Coronavirus - What Happened?

Yes, that’s the point. Reduction of the probability for infection.

Awesome. Wear your mask and have a ball. I will travel around sans-mask and enjoy my life.

And there’s a non-zero chance you’ll ruin someone else’s.

You’re such a rebel.

So if I’m asymptomatic, and I just supposed to hunker down in my home until the government tells me I am OK to venture outside? Continue wearing a mask until the end of time? When will I know I no longer have the virus?

If there is one thing I have learned over my life, it is to never trust the government, press, or media.

Question things for Christ sakes. Just because the government tells you something doesn’t mean it’s gospel.

You are a hero. I will, for the rest of my life, look to you, an internet stranger posting about a virus on a bodybuilding website, as the reason I question EVERYTHING.

Thank you.

You are also an internet stranger posting on a bodybuilding website. Why should anyone trust what you say?

Same here.

Which is why I started using a mask when the government was telling me not to.

I’m not really recommending anything to anyone. I’m just messing with you dude - chill out.

99% sounds like a legit, well-supported, peer-reviewed, trustworthy number.

I don’t trust Italy, because Mussolini-and, by extension-Hitler. Do you trust Hitler? Coronavirus is more dangerous than the showers, @anon50325502.

Basically. You can be asymptomatic AND contagious for two weeks before becoming symptomatic. Some people just plain are asymptomatic. You could literally have it and carry it to others who can die from it without knowing that you have it. But your personal freedoms certainly trump everyone else’s rights.

It’s a bit old, but it was done by their health authority.

What rights are you talking about-the right to not get sick?

Or, more likely, you can not have it not take it to someone else that in turn does not die and be fined $5k / jailed for a year for leaving your house or not wearing a mask in my state.

I assume we will extend the fines / jail time to every other communicable disease once this is over.

He expressed a total unwillingness to comply with any common measures, like social distancing or wearing a mask in public, because he isn’t going to let “The man” tell him what to do. Self centred prick that he is.

Maybe. But the fact is, we don’t know who does and doesn’t have it. The countries that test more find that way more people have it than they would expect. Which is good because it means most people are not going to die from it, but bad because they can easily carry it to the at risk people. Is my personal comfort worth a life? Or even an extended hospital stay?

Not to HIV/AIDs, because that would be discrimination.

Again, whose rights is he violating?

Anybody on the sidewalk for starters. Who knows how he is in a store or somewhere else?
