Constant Headaches on TRT

Does anyone else get constant headaches on trt? Blood pressure is around 135… Shouldn’t be causing headaches. Dropped arimidex for several weeks now. Still getting slight headaches. Nothing will make them go away except sleep… Taking 120mg weekly split twice per week. I’m ready to throw in the towel…

Estrogen was way low a few months back. Dropped arimidex. Stayed on test dosing and felt much better. But my headaches are coming back. They’re hard to explain, just a nagging pain that comes and goes. Last time I got checked two days after Injection my test was 1200, free test was 300, e2 was 45… Shbg at 28…

Should I lower test dosage? I don’t want to fuck with arimidex anymore. I end up going to low and getting anxiety, and feeling more bloated and terrible…

Headaches can be caused by high hematocrit, similar to headaches caused by polycythemia vera which is a form of cancer that increase hematocrit.

You did say TT is 1200, maybe hematocrit is elevated or at least elevated high enough to cause symptoms. I was previously iron deficient and multiple other deficiencies which caused headaches.

Your sleep must be allowing a possible mineral to recover when sleeping because metabolic rates are slowed, just a theory. There is an answer to your headaches, this is why it’s very important to be working with the best doctors.

I got extremely bloated when anastrozole knocked estrogen down to 7 and 12, low estrogen really messed up my fluid balance. I even had more belly fat in the short time estrogen was low.

What about your mineral and vitamin status?

Have you tried a lower TT levels?

If you crashed your E2 it takes a while to come back. Took a good month for me.

I haven’t taken any arimidex in about a month. My estrogen was back in the 40s a few weeks ago. Still trying to let it line out… I’ve kinda slacked off on my vitamin and minerals as of late. Could be it. But I still had them when I was taking them all… Also had headaches after I gave blood as well. I’m really stumped at this point. I guess I could try lowering my dose.

And my doctor just kinda blows me off when I mentioned headaches to him. I’m going to bring it up in the next few weeks when I go.

Also noticed headaches are especially worse the 1st 24 - 36hours or so after injection…

I love your doctor already!

Lolol. Fixing to try someone else. He used to be really good. But he has too many patients now to give a fuck

Only thing I can think of is getting a blood test to check blood thickness. I don’t have these issues so I can’t attest to whether they would cause headaches but it would make sense that they would. Have you checked blood pressure?

Blood pressure stays about 135… It’s been that way for years. I gave blood and still have the headaches. So it’s not that. Maybe just too high of test levels in general

Could be iron deficient. Have you had a full iron panel + ferritin checked?

I would lower the dosage and inject more frequently (maybe 3x per week 30 mg to start) in your situation. You were used to low T levels and now you jumped from being low in T to being high within a couple of weeks and additional getting the T spikes.

Checking HCT makes absolutely sense.

But that’s based on my personal experience and I am sure some members here would diasagree.

Iron and ferret in were good… Just checked them a month ago. I’ve been on self administered trt for 6 years. I never had these issues until I started going back thru the doctor… Makes no sense. I NEVER had issues before. I’ve tried every day injections to weekly. Still get the headaches.

What was your protocol then before and which T did you use? Could also be something related to the formulation; the source of oil, preservatives. Any signs of a local reaction after administration?

Honestly I used to just do 250 MG per week in the past. And blast for a few months @500mg per week. It was enanthate. I’ve actually switched from cyp to enanthate and now back to cypionate. I got headaches with both… So I went with the cheaper one. I get it compounded with mct oil now instead of cottonseed. I have always split dose twice weekly…

Maybe see if they’ll do grape seed on the next batch?

I actually tried to get them to do that this last time. She said that the FDA has banned the use of grapeseed oil in compounding. Nuts… I thought I could be having allergic reaction to the oil. Swapped to MCT. same shit…

You might be right. Mine was grape seed for forever and I just looked at my bottle and it now says sesame oil (from compound pharmacy). Weird.

Really weird… I used to brew my own stuff years ago and never had any issues. It was all grapeseed oil. I like the mct oil a lot now. It’s like water. I can draw and shoot with and insulin needle like it’s a 10 gauge… But back to the original, what dose does everyone run? I’m gonna get bloods done on Wednesday next week and see where I’m at. I’ll lower my dose from there and see how I feel.

That is what’s in my Test Cyp.
