Considering TRT, In My Mid 50s

500 is not optimal for all… This is from a doctor…

People often ask whether 500 ng/dL is a good level. “500 can be a good T level for people with a sedentary lifestyle, because they don’t require tons of T,” says Danielle McDevitt, M.D., a physician who specializes in hormones… “But if you’re very athletic, you’ll need more than 500 ng/dL,” she says.

Unless your a doctor that specializes in hormones, I would be careful telling folks what they need or don’t need. Just as some people do well on 75mg a week and others need 150mg per week, I don’t think there is a one size fits all with hormones.

A great magazine article … They also say if you feel fine at 300 or 400 total, you don’t need to do a thing. Testosterone Levels By Age: What's Normal?

I’m actually in decent shape… 178lbs… 32 in waist, 5’8 … but terrible sleep, slow recovery, libido gone, mood swings, erection issues, I’m not sure if I got back into this shape due to muscle memory or what, but I certainly hit a wall in all facets of my routine.

Last night I head the best night of sleep in a long time, this past week mood has been the most stable in years, the pep is back in my step as if I was 30 yrs old again…

:joy: then is must be true

Im more inclined to listen to a doctor than randoms on the net with no real education or experience on the subject aside from reading, doctors dont know everything, obviously, but im glad i listened to mine and took arimdex as directed.

Given the symptoms you describe, TRT is certainly a legitimate option for you. Good luck sorting it all out.

You could also use this analogy, ignore the oil change intervals on your car and your reasoning for not doing oil change at the appropriate time is because the engine is running perfectly fine, but one day after the damage is done, it’s too late.

You can replace your car with a new one, you can’t replace your cardiovascular system, or undo the damage over decades caused by subpar T.

Preventative maintenance for your car, but not your body?

This is what stands out for me. Does the OP believe TRT will have a similar effect as PED’s?

I say, not at all. His desire is to be on TRT and look like he is on AAS. That ain’t happening. And you can talk TRT until you get blue in the face.
