It was great. So long as you understand what you’re in for. I think saying it sucked would be like going to McDonald’s for a Big Mac meal and saying it was awful because it’s not a rib eye steak. This movie did all the things it had to do and did them well.
Maybe I was a little bit ready to be disappointed because I’d heard bad things, but at 38 I really don’t think I would do that, the same way I no longer do anything like get my hopes up from a trailer. I just think to myself whether I’ll go see a movie or not…no “That movie will fucking rock!” kind of stuff.
And I’m not just one of those guys that’s like “So long as Conan cuts off a bunch heads and bangs a wench it’s awesome!” It had a good enough plot that felt like reading one of the Savage Sword of Conan comics (those larger sized black and white ones that could show beheadings and tits because it was technically a ‘magazine’)
I find it a little strange that someone wouldn’t at least give it a 7 out of 10, but apparently it’s not doing very well.
Remember, Nards. Its 2011. A lot of Twilight fans out there.

Conan didnt show his feelings, he didnt have good character development, the score was horrible, some of the actors were over acting. FML
Thanks Nards hope to see it soon.
I thought it was horrible. It lacked the ‘finesse’ of the original - Conan wasn’t a savage before, he was a warrior. Now they took the name literally, and just made him into a barbarian. Cheezy action, cheezy plot. It was just too simplistic.

Lacked the finesse? Huh? In the 1982, Conan was a barbarian boy who became a human plow, then became a brutal pit fighter, and then was only allowed to learn when he became the best pit fighter they had.
I disagree, sir. The 2011 Conan is the closest we’ve come to Conan from the books.

Based on the majority of negative reviews on here, I’ll wait for the DVD then…
Yeah…but very few here are actually “movie lovers” in the first place. These are the same types of guys who think everything sucks. I won’t be paying for movie tickets for anything unless I waited since I was 8 to see it in that form. LOL
I really don’t think some people here like MOST movies.

I will take the first planet ticket to England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada or whatever weird country you’re in, take a bus to your city, find your flat/apartment/mansion, kick the down the door or knock, drag you to the theater, and make you watch Conan the Barbarian.

Wait, so you’re saying…
ITS A TRAP?!!
(Just kidding, Dark Ninja)
I doubt she even knows what that could mean. Quit being so soft.

Its not soft, its called Maturity.
LOL, I’ll leave it at that.
This Conan was decent but it’s nothing compared to the Arnold one. The dialog in this makes the first Conan look like Othello. I’m probably biased though because the first Conan movie is one of my favorite movies of all time.
Damn you Wol, I could of seen Rise of the Planet of the Apes instead.
