Compulsory Physique Picture in Avatar

That is a really gay idea.

Besides, what can you tell somebody that already knows what someone else has said?

The people have spoken.

Ill email the mods and discuss how we are going to implement this.
Thanks for your feedback ducklings!

I wanna be like C_C when I grow up.

Edit: Did you guys see that cat talkin’ about the Tesseract? Priceless.

I gotta ask…I can’t see any avatars at all. Using FF, whatever the current version is. I didn’t realize they were supposed to be visible until this thread.

Shit

Real recognize real

In terms of lifting if someone has a record of posts that you can tell have been gained through experience and not copy paste then why do pics matter? I don’t know or care about what a lot of you look like but I know which ones know their shit. I never looked at hubs or analyzed avatars…I can decipher a post and tell if its legit or not.

You either 1. Try out what that person says if it makes any sense to you or 2 don’t

Dear Butterfly,

Darlin, you are full of cheese.

…In some thread recently, I mentioned the idea of twice-a-year mass call-out/check-in, say February and August (every six months) where each member would be invited/encouraged/expected to post a recent photo or video showing that they actually show up at a gym and train a few days a week…

In my opinion (my personal opinion, absolutely not representing “official T-Nation doctrine” or anything), the one thing that should be common ground for every person who signs up for an account on this site is an interest in exercise, more specifically weight training.

However, I’m dead-set positive that there are more than a few forum members racking up high post counts who either simply don’t train on a regular basis or don’t do so with anything that could be called dedicated (or successful) effort, and I find that just baffling…

Chris for what it’s worth, I agree with you 100%. This could be a way to motivate people to actually be accountable to themselves, and the board in general. A “Photographic Semester Exam” would weed out the slouches from the do-ers and reduce the trolling to a minimum.

On the other hand this is still a commercial site, which lives from the sheer number of members and a change of member selection policy would come with far reaching consequences.

There are set rules for posting in “Rate my Physique” and these rules are ignored on a daily basis, which makes me believe that even if some form of posting rules would be implemented, the mods would have to be much harsher in their methods of intervention.

I post in a German BB forum and the mods there are constantly issuing temporary and permanent bans to members for repeated cases of disinformation, or personal attacks like in the “Euro 2012” thread here in GAL. Free speech in the internet does not mean that the majority of members should have to tiptoe through posts filled with hate, lies and downright bullshit.

Im taking a leaf out of ChrisColluci and Hungry4More’s book. By the time you are reading this post, my avatar has been updated to a pic of me in my underwear. This is the fist time in birdy history that I have changed my avatar.

From now on I will only respond to posts from people who have avatars of themselves, and I encourage for everyone else to follow suit. Lets clean up T-Nation… bird-style!

p.s; this includes you Nards, so unless you are really MacGyver, I suggest you change your avavatar pic.

Dude in underwear with a rapist hockey mask.

Usually, it takes a bit longer till the unintended consequences kick in.

Then again, maybe that was the plan all along.

sweat sweat.

damn, its hot.

Dude what are you doing to your dog there?

QFT from c. 2 centuries ago

My pictures been of me for like 6 months now…

Do I win? lolol

But really, it’s not a bad idea to avoid blind leading the blind but what the hell is gonna stop people from just taking random pictures of other guys and passing it off as them for one reason or another.

I’m not really MacGyver but I am really Nada.

And as I said before I have some pics in my hub, no underwear ones but I do have one with a cute doggie.

As I said before we don’t need profile pics to be ourselves, but it would be nice if everyone had a pic in their hub.

Im working on something that will prevent this.

One L, Two Cs. Colucci.

And if that’s a page out of my book, burn the sucker. Congrats for the change, really, it’s definitely a step in the right direction. But the idea, as far as I’m concerned at least, is to post something recent.

That pic of you doing who-knows-what to that poor dog is over a year and a half old, from your Rate My Physique thread you mentioned earlier. You’ve probably been busting your ass since then. Toss something new up. Or throw together a quick vid of you doing some fancy football footwork. We all wanna see how The Bird flys, don’t we? (Trying to relate to you in language you understand. Ha.)

No way at all this will become an official requirement before signing up for the forum. That would be unrealistic and impractical. Those “rules” in the Rate My Physique forum were entirely determined by members, and they’re “enforced” by members.

If the concept of putting a face to a poster is going to work, it’s going to be up to the members to hold themselves (vets and newbies) accountable. As simple as, seeing someone dish out a ton of advice and calling them on it. “Dude, you talk a bunch, but have you dropped a pic in the Aug 2012 Site Check-in Thread? … Why not?”

But I absolutely don’t ever expect a self-pic to be mandatory for site membership. That’s one or two steps before having to use your real name, which I’ve seen on some forums, and that’ll be as well-accepted as a queef in church.

Heck, pics don’t even need to be current! If some guy looked great 20 years ago and tells what he was doing and eating then I’d still be happy.

I have pics in my hub that I would never ever think of putting up on facebook just because I’d look like a fucking weirdo. I put them in there because I felt if I was on a site like this I may as well let people know what my ugly bag of mostly water at least looks like if they ever felt like clicking on it…though I do suck in my gut.
