A friend I haven’t seen in a year or two:

I’ll take the compliment, although if you look at my profile pics I’m no where near even looking like I lift. But, it was good for the ol’ morale.
It’ll be interesting to hear what people say in a couple of years.
I usually get the “you have gorgeous eyes” or the occasional “you’re hot” from girls. Never anything about my muscles, probably for a good reason, but I’m going to fix that.
My favorite was from a track athlete a couple months ago. We were talking about running 400’s and he was like, “So what’s it like being fast”. My response, “It hurts just as much you just run faster.”
I like this thread. Two recently:
-A couple of weeks ago I was having a weak, shitty day. I was squatting and one of the very big, very strong men told me I was strong and he had never seen anyone go that deep on squats.
-When I did a local stronman comp in June, a man came up to me later and said “Young lady, I couldn’t have moved that stone half as many times”. Of course I was happy with the young lady part. The rest was icing.
Stuff like that can really lift you up.
So I was lifting with my wife at a local gym. My wife would normally warm up for squats with 135, 185, 205 for sets of 5 and then do her working sets. Well on her last rep at 205 she falls off-balance and dumps the bar. Huge crash, and this guy comes flying across the gym to make sure everythings ok. He looks at the weight laying there and says, “Maybe you shouldn’t be lifting so much weight”. I kind of just wanted to laugh and him.

It wasn’t a verbal compliment however the other morning standing in line to get some food from the deli downstairs, there was a lady/girl waiting as well, she didn’t say anything, she smiled at me, looked me up and down the proceeded to do one of those streatch moves girls do with their arms behind their backs and boobs sticking way out, all the while she was looking at me. She had some nice boobies! Best non compliment ever.

all the kids at the summer scheme im working at all think im as big and strong as those guys off WSM. loving the compliments but it means they all want me to lift them above my head etc etc… suppose its my biceps will grow with all the kid curls im doing. lol
and today we were doing 100m races and it was the final between me and this 15/16 year old guy whos a local underage sports star, in the papers every week etc and touted as being the next big thing. i had a easy route to the final beating litle kids etc.
i beat this 15/16 year old by about 5 metres after takeing an early lead of at least 10 metres. he was amazed and so where his friends. he sayd he does a 12 sec 100m. the last time i did it i got something shite like 14.5secs. so i hope he wasnt lieing and i am up getting faster.
2 for me:
1st - had a friend come into town and the gang all got together at a bar. I arrive and tap a friend of mines girlfriend on the shoulder and she turns and shreeks. “Oh my god, oh my god, where is the rest of you. Jesus christ you are hot.” Throughout the night she interjects “I can*t believe it” about 30 times.
My buddy looks like Brad Pitt in Fight Club but it was nice for once to be refered to as “jacked.”
2nd - Company Xmas party and a coworkers wife is begging him to dance. He is in his 60s and asked if I wouldnt mind taking his wife on the dance floor. I said it would be a pleasure and escort her out. When we arrive I say that I have one rule - you have to follow my lead. (Most women are incapable of doing this but in their defense most men dont know how to lead either.)
After we are finished we go back to the table and my coworker asks his wife how it was. She says - “Honey, this boy can DANCE!” and proceeds to swat me on the ass.
I took it as a compliment.
