Well of course a Lt wouldn’t have the experience a Sgt would have. Officers need time to develop just like the non-commissioned. An Lt is practically the officer equivalent of a Pte. I would rather follow an inexperienced Lt than a inexperienced Pte or Cpl. Even Mcpl wouldn’t lead as well as most Lt. I don’t know what rank that would be in the USA, probably equal to your Sgt.
