I really doubt most officers are screw-ups. I find enlisted people have a dislike for officers that they are taught from fellow enlisted members. I think it is more out of jealousy than from actual screw-ups by officers. I know a lot more people who are non-commissioned that should not be allowed in the military than officers who should not be there. Yes there are officers that mess up but I would bet money that enlisted people have the higher percentage of screw-ups in their ranks.
