last 4 days before final weigh in plan to be on minimal food (greens) + 1 liter of water a day with zero salt
I would advise against that. I cut weight for competition several times a year, so I’m pretty experienced with cutting water. Here’s what you want to do:
-3 weeks out, increase water consumption to 2 gal/day
-2 weeks out, increase water to 3 gal/day. Start increasing sodium. This is easily accomplished by just making your meals saltier. Don’t go crazy here. Cut carbs to as low as you can.
-3 days out, cut out extra sodium.
-2 days out, cut water to 1.5 gal, eat minimal sodium. I also switch to an all-shake diet on this day to reduce GI tract contents. Do whatever you have to do to take a nice big shit this day.
-Day before weigh-in (and day of up until you hit the scale), no water, minimal food. I use Atkins bars and nibble on them sparingly through the day. You can do your sauna, epsom salt baths, etc, this day. If you are dying for something to drink, suck an ice chip or a slice of lemon. You will feel like shit about half way through, especially if you sauna. Personally, I need eye drops on this day because my eyes get really dry. Don’t go any longer than a day or day and a half with this or it can be pretty dangerous.
-After weigh in, rehydrate slowly. I use Gatorade and Anaconda.
Good luck!
Thanx for posting this HG, I am thinking of tinkering with water manipulation, and this is a good strategy for me to use.
Feel free to PM me if you want any more details. I’ve found some good articles on it as well.

haha man that’s awesome I wish every workplace would do something like that.
Yeah mate our company is a very cool place to work for in that sense, we have very good sports facilities and our chairman is very supportive of all sports activities as he was a rugby athlete, he now plays squash regularily and is preparing for running a half marathon.

What does your company do?
anyway good luck with the weightloss I hope you win.
Gents Yesterday I decided to have my cheat meal I feel kindaf guilty but I enjoyed it like hell
We went to an Italian place that also serves steak. I had
2 pieces of Bruschetta
3 pieces of italian bread and dipped it into olive oil and balsamic
1 11oz steak with porcini mushroom sauce
1 garlic mash and asked for it to be made with olive oil
Yes I believe I over did it, but what the hell
the good thing is that my body responded to the increased calories very well. I started feeling hot for 15 minutes then didnt feel at all, I actually felt pretty light on the drive home
I adored every morcel of the food but I had to make up for it
this morning I walked to work (2 miles) and was fasting
had a green salad for lunch
and will have a protein bar for dinner and go jog for 30-45 minutes depending on how the feet feel.
Cheers

Hi GUys just an update increased water to 2 gallons/day
Increased salt intake
going strong with the diet looks like this
Break fast Fruit or Yogurt
Lunch CHicken Breast + Salad
Dinner Protein bar/whey shake
ECA has been curbing my cravings and appetite pretty well
Although I am on less than 1000 calories per day for quite a long time 6-7 weeks with only 3 cheat days I am still not plateauing which is great
I hope I can reach my target as the other guys are working hard at it too. I believe I am the front runner till now, but I believe the great water manipulation advice I received above will help me lose + 15lbs of water
keeping fingers crossed
Cheers
Oz
Gents,
Diet going great and closing in on 50lbs lost in 40 days. One of my crossfit type friends recommended I add in 80-100gm of Carbs in the morning for 2 consecutive days each week then cutting off for the rest of the week to speed up my metabolism, any thpoughts???
Cheers
Ozzie
Hi Bunny Bench, Our company is a gold miner in Egypt and I work for them as a Senior Management Accountant
281!!!
15 lbs to go and 21 days to do it, I seem to have underestimated myself.
I just read Chris Shugarts article about FFB’s and I think after the competition I will continue with a structured diet now till I hit BF 10% then will begin a bulkup to settle around 260 @ 12% for the summer.
ANy opinions?
Sounds like a plan ![]()
Trying a pulse fast today
first time but I am notusing MAG-10 I’m using another Whey Product (ON) and I am taking a multivitamen and a multi mineral capsule with every pulse. Its seems easy mixed with ECA as I dont feel I need to eat anything in the first place. If I feel good tomorrow morning I will repeat this 2x per week till weigh in.
Cheers
Ozzie

Ozzie
Cool Cool! I figure at your current weight you just might be able to suck 7 lbs of water (I’m usually good only for 3-4 myself). Go to it!

Cheers Stu
Can’t wait to begin lifting again…
Damn man, you’ve almost lost 60 pounds!?! Great job!
Thanks Gregron
Yep today its 60 pounds in 72 days
What I am really proud of is that I have no loose skin so far. Don’t get me wrong I still have a respectable tyre around my midsection but arms chest shoulders upper back and legs are leaner than ever I finally have low enough fat tissue on my pecs to see striations when flexing.
We have a saying in Egypt “If you thank, you shall receive more” and therefore again I extend my thanks to everybody who gave me advice and support in this trip.
Next step will definitely be harder which is drop down to 10% @242lbs in 90 days your support will be critical

Mate I know will be a beast, WhenI competed for Shot put at my prime I was 290 lbs at 11.5% but again I was only 20, I burned fat while I was planning a diet FML
Yeah the method I use works perfectly for me
CALORIE INTAKE-1000 calories = CALORIE EXPENDITURE(from training)
let your BMR do the rest for you
as well when I diet I DIET AND CHEAT VERY CLEAN I know I am an FFB
I’ve been following your progress. Was the competition yesterday? Results please.
