If youāre really strong, explosive and muscular, youāre Fast Twitch dominant. So you run out of gas faster than a leaner, Slow Twitch guy with greater endurance.
If youāre genetically awesome, you may need to do the pushups super, super fast. To get the reps in before you get tired. Like a football combine bench press guy.
So the good T-shirts are out of stock. @Chris_Shugart will my code be valid if i wait for them to come back in stock?
I mean i could get the tank top. But my wife will laugh at me.
I think it will stay valid for a while. I think Tim Patterson made the code work for everything in the apparel section, so you can pick up a hoodie or hat if you prefer. (The zip and pullover hoodies are the bomb.)
No doubt! But its too hot for hoodies where I live and Iām going through a āno-hatā phase (i seem to alternate every couple years) so Iāll wait for a T or just settle for a tank
Still hoping to see some other videos just for the hell of it⦠if its so easy everyone should just try it and see where they are.
You claim JDM did not meet the criteria but, all of yours were 1/4 attempts at best. Your chest was well above the floor and you were never close to lock out.
Forgot to mention 66 years old and due to 51 yeaes od training my wlbows dont lock out. If you look qt the start od the video you will see that all reps are the same as when i started the first rep . Wherws yours big talker
I did this today midway through my workout (after my chest work and before the rest of the session). It sucked even more than I thought and getting 40 was quite hard. And Iām in good cardiovascular shapeāresting heart rate in the high 40s from lots of weekly cycling. Maybe I just suck a push-ups.
@duker looks great to me! Fast too! @blshaw kind of you to help.
Lol at how goody this thread got.
I had no intention of making it a poop throwing contest.
I really like this challenge @Chris_Shugart! Itās so nice making āscienceā into practice here! Keep 'em coming! Also worth noting what happens among forum members (form criticism).
My first thought was like, ok, I can do 40 pushups if the form/tempo is not too important. But, coming from a HIT background, ONE proper pushup would equal an at least 4 second effort - meaning 40 pushups leading to a 160 sec TUT effort! LOL! That said, I donāt know my HIT max pushup number, and simply donāt care whether I do 20, 30 or 40 of them.
What I am getting at here is: Does it matter whether you manage 40 quick (perhaps sloppy) reps for about 90 secs - or maybe half the reps in slower HIT fashion? To me it doesnāt, but I find it interesting that a particular number to reach for - may lead to sloppy form. The number being more important than the form. Similar to what I observed during my CrossFit attempts.
