Communism and Free Market

In Marx’s theory, communism isn’t supposed to work at all in a state of scarcity.

The “scenario” was this one :

Industrialization → reduction of scarcity → exacerbation of class warfare → socialist revolution and dictatorship of the proletariat → end of class warfare → decline of the state → communism

Marx made the same mistake than nearly everyone else in the 19th century : he thought industrial growth would abolish scarcity in a matter of decades.
He didn’t anticipate that it would create new needs, and new forms of scarcity.

His productivism prevented him to understand the emergence of consumerism.

must admit if jr249 has that thin of skin , I say oh well

I read the Communist Manifesto when I was fifteen and my understanding of Communism and socialism is in accord with what JR249 explained. Can you explain your understanding of Communism and socialism please?

Holy shit a testimonial from the prudish one  I have always thought Stalin was a communists and Stalin hated Socialists . One normally does not hate one’s self . I guess that is my point

I don’t have thin skin, but there’s a different between having thin skin and spending time laying out the facts, only to have you suggest it’s all conjecture.

I have asked, and so have others, what your source was in your original post - what served as the basis for your understanding of communist, socialism, etc., according to what you laid out in previous posts, but those questions have gone unanswered. You claim to have read Marx, yet appeared to be incredulous at the concept that the purest form of socialism is communism. I’m not sure what else to add at this point. I even cited sources.

This statement proves my point. I’m not at all trying to be caustic, but I’m not convinced that you have a firm understanding of these concepts in relation to how they have played out historically. We’re all going round and round here and getting nowhere.

So again, you stated in the original post that “it has always been my opinion that Communism is where the Government controls the Market.” Is there a source somewhere that argues this, teaches it, or expands on this so I can understand where you are coming from? If you’ve actually read Marx, I don’t see how this conclusion comes from a critical interpretation of his philosophy on communism.

You’re wasting your time. I only asked him to explain for the lolz. Pitt’s contribution here doesn’t extend beyond demonstration of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

Take that post , there is more content than your question , it is easy to over look a question , or it is easy for me to over look a question .

To answer your question it was a musing on my part if nothing else from the samantical aspect .

When the Government controls the market or whether the market controls the government the out come could be very similar .

What , you act as though it is not every one that is wasting their time here . I personally am killing a couple minutes between my work out (DONE) and making lunch to go to work . Now that is what I call wasting time

I do hope no one here takes them selves too seriously

I love my work out , it is the high light of my day

I talked to a Chinese professor at a local college. He put it this way: In China, the person is taken care of from birth to death. There is nothing to worry about as far as things like health care, social programs, etc are concerned. He said the government determined how much a job was worth, so no matter what you did you only got so much money depending on the job you were doing.

In the USA, he said, everything's up to the individual. You are not taken care of. You have to save your own money for things like health care, social programs etc. But in America you can make as much money as you possibly can. You can quit your job and do what ever you want to do, be what ever you want to be. I asked him which system he preferred and he said America, that's why I'm here.

I know I have seen this on PWI before but they had the ISM pegged as Socialism , I am pegging it as Capitalism not in the sense of Economy but when you allow an economy to dictate to the Governance of the People . It is applicable
