Coming off T-Dawg

I’ve searched the forum archives for any info on coming off the T-Dawg diet but there doesn’t seem to be any about.

What i’d like to know is what effects coming off the T-Dawg will have. I will have completed 6 weeks on the diet and am about to go on an ‘all inclusive’ caribbean holiday for two weeks where tons of food will be available 24/7. I’m not about to start stuffing my pie hole will loads of high G.I. cakes etc but would like to be able to enjoy my food while i’m away.

Will my increased insulin sensitivity make me fat when i start on the carbs again, should i increase carbs slowly or can i use this to my advantage by starting a mass building phase (i made sure the resort had a decent gym). Any advice will be great as i don't want to undo all the good work i've done so far but still want to enjoy my hols.

Cheers.

C’mon guys and gals, there must be loads of you that have completed the T-Dawg diet and returned to a more balanced diet after. What did you do, how did a normal diet effect you after a long period of low carbs, did you notice increased LMB or Fat gain when you went back to normal level of carbs? These are the things i want to know and you lot are the ones that have the answers so lets have it!!!

I actually stopped that diet pretty suddenly. Went from <30g of carbs a day to about 150. Reason being I was doing meltdown along with it and about 2 weeks in I was doing a set of push presses and I almost passed out. I’d felt that dizzy feeling people talk about before, but nothing like this. I just felt like complete and total dogshit the next morning… I started eating again (actually I ate a whole pumpkin pie at about 10:30 in the morning… didn’t really help too much ;]). I gained about 3 or 4 pounds in a couple of days and then I started losing it again with a massive eating style diet. Now my carbs are about 100 on nonworkout days, and about 120-130 on workout days. I’m losing fat faster, and I feel SOO much better on this diet. I know other people gradually increased their carb intake everyweek coming off t-dawg though, and that seems like a much better idea. Hope this helps dude, but I’m sure someone has a better answer for you… Cheers.

Marv, here is what you can expect, based on my experience. A lot of the weight lost on low carb diets is water, so you will see an immediate increase of a few pounds, then it will level off, as your body gets used to the carbs again, and holds more water. Also, try to limit the really bad stuff. Stick with fruits and veggies, and phase in any baked goods a little at a time. I would also limit the alcohol, and take advantage of the wide variety of native plant foods. OR – just say f it, I am on a vacation. If you get in an occasional workout, how much damage can you do in just 2 weeks anyway?

Cheers guys.

Thanks for that Huck, i never really thought of it that way, exactly how much damage can i do in 2 weeks, not much i suspect. As long as i get a few good workouts in i should be fine.

Thanks again.
