Previous log #3 Get Your Act Together
Last Weekend’s Climb 2900+ Elevation
Cycling up mountains with a heavy bike has done wonders for my legs and glutes like nothing has before.
Stopped drinking for 16 months (except for Dec. holiday time). 20lbs lighter eventually, watching my sleep more carefully, cold showers etc.
Focusing on cycling while not tweaking anything. My ribs have been holding up (only took 8 years :upside_down_face) and ankle is 89% better. Last year trainer actually got a bar on my back for numerous workouts since like 2013.
I’m stuck with home workouts with very limited equipment right now, we moved AGAIN.
- 15 KB
- 20 KB
- Red band
- Booty bands
- (1) - 5lb DB
But art is created within constraints.
Dr gave me a note so I can use my FSA dollars. Once a week my old trainer is virtually helping me get more bang for the buck and to not be bored. She’s helping me with my shoulder, ankle, and lower back right now (always something).

Nothing real exciting. I’m a hedonistic sloth this weekend.
Previous week: Swimming, DB lats & sprint glute walking, KB elevated lunges, swings and some core. No cycling and very little sleep.
This week:
Lazy. KB elevated split squats. Quads Toast, dropped KB on foot
.The following day we were going to go kayaking but they were not open. Just as well… what I would call my cycling warm up felt way too hard. Lots of sprint glute walking this weekend. Playing around with dumbbell now and then targeting small back & shoulder muscles.
I looked back at my weight end of 2021, lost 28lbs. However… while I look much better I don’t have a lot dialed in, not diet or daily exercise consistency. And for being at this weight I can see how I could look much better, body fat percentage is still too high.
Question is what will I do about it? It’s the 100 million dollar question that gets lost while dealing with daily stress. It’s so simple that I know intellectually and even from previous experience that I would be able to handle the stress better if I prioritized. Going to have a talk with myself and try babystepping.

We went kayaking. No upper body strength or skill on my part but it was fun. Cycling there was much easier today.
