Comic Character Battles

I was just reminiscing on a big argument I had with Wol a long time ago about who would win in a fight between Wolverine and Batman (is Wol still around anyway?).

This made me want to start a thread for comic fans who wanted to discuss matchups in general. I don’t really have 2 specific characters in mind, this is more to throw out any matchups and have quick little discussions about it then move on to the next one. If necessary (and if I can keep up) I will act as a moderator, unless someone who is more well-versed and unbiased wants to step in and do that.

Please don’t put out stupid match-ups like Silver Surfer vs. Shocker or something. At least think of characters that would be a good match for each other (or be prepared to explain why they would be if on the surface it seems like they wouldn’t be, that could actually be a whole other topic: character fights that actualy WOULD be good fights, even though they look stupid at first).

Comic fans/geeks, enjoy.

(sorry if this has already been done, but frankly, if it’s really old, then it could be redone anyway, so don’t get your panties in a bunch if it has).

Possible match-ups to start out with:

X-Men vs. Avengers (since they’re about to do a new story about this anyway)
Any of Galactus’ heralds vs any other one of them
cross-overs like, say, Super-man vs. Sentry or Batman vs. Black Panther

Hope this is fun. Discuss…

haha, you’re a fool ID

Lobo vs Wolverine.

Deadpool vs Batman.

Carnage vs Venom.

Hm, now I know they did a story arc with Carnage. Did Venom ever fight Carnage by himself in that one? I know Venom teamed up with Spiderman and they both fought Carnage. I never read it… but from what I understand, they’re essentially the same (or Carnage is the offspring of the symbiote that is mainly Venom) except Carnage is stronger and can do more things like create shapes with his suit. Correct me if I’m wrong. May have to do some research…

They have fought in the past, but, i’m not sure what the outcome was.

In the latest Carnage series, they have the ‘new’ Venom coming to save The Thing, Captain America, Hawkeye, Wolverine, and Spiderman, (plus, a whole town) who are being held captive by Carnage.

The latest issue has Venom gearing up to go after Carnage.

Carnage is bonded with Eddie Brock, who is a psychopath and since the symbiote was born on earth, it has a whole different range of powers that Venom doesn’t have, along with greater strength.

I thought Carnage was bonded with Kassady? Eddie Brock bonded with the first Venom.

I’d have to give this fight to Carnage. Simply based on who is stronger and has more abilities.

WTF. I meant Cletus Kasady!

Plus, Carnage has NO conscience whatsoever.

Both the previous and present Carnage miniseries are really good. Clayton Crain penciled both of them.

Gotta give this one to the Avengers hands down. Hulk and Thor alone would destroy the x-men

Crossover tech-suit battle: Booster Gold vs. Ironman??

Lobo. He’s been able to fight Superman and win. And then sometimes, he loses to lame ass characters. I give it to Lobo. Wolverine is vastly overrated.

I don’t read Deadpool comics, so I don’t know what he does.

I go with Carnage.

Without rules, Booster. Being from the future his tech should be more advanced than Stark’s and he could time hop to alter the timeline in his favor if he chose to.

If Booster isn’t allowed to steal Stark’s tech from the future and use it against him, and the Hulkbuster armor is involved then Iron Man wins.

My heart goes with Absorbing man, but I don’t know if Rogue’s power would work on Absorbing Man.

Shaw would get his ass kicked.

Ghost Rider vs. Spawn

Batman vs. Ozymandias[/quote]

If Ghost Rider can hit him with the Penance stare, Rider wins it. But I’ve heard that Spawn is pretty bad ass. I have little knowledge of both, but I’d give it to Spawn.

Batman is what Ozymandias wishes to be. Batman wins.

Spawn would win…but it would still be a cool fight.
