That was one hell of a close game Boss, I really thought Nebraska was gonna pull that out. You know that kicker got laid to holy hell that night.
Yeah…that was too close. I’m glad the defense decided to play. They have been the only consistent thing this year(outside of A&M rivalry game).

I hate the spread offense with a passion…at least for UT. What’s the point of having a group of talented RBs if you’re running the QB all the damn time?? I hope they change to more of a zone-offense…similiar(not exactly) to Broncos at their pinnacle. It would be a plus for the running game and a mobile QB.

McCoy’s replacement(6’5" Garrett Gilbert) is not the runner he is…but is a better passer who is mobile enough in the pocket and for bootlegs…and the OCCASIONAL QB draw/run play. Getting a little side-tracked…but yeah, that was way too close. We can’t play like that against Alabama AND with no running game to balance the offense.
As much as I would like to see Bama smash Texas, I have this bad feeling that Texas will make the title game very close, if not win outright.

And looking ahead to next year, which I have been doing since OU lost to BYU, I want to see how Texas does after McCoy graduates. Texas will still be solid next year, but having an unproven quarterback can make the difference between mediocrity (see OU this year) or a conference championship contender.

I don’t think it’s gonna be a high scoring game. In fact,I think it will be very competitive…which has been missing from the last 3 BCS title games.

This is the time of the year when I start looking ahead to next season. I see the defense still being strong…especially our secondary. Though,I am a little concerned about LBs.

Offense is what I’m worried about the most. What the hell are they gonna do about the running game…we have good enough RBs. We have good receivers coming back. The O-Line won’t vary too much. So yeah, the focus is on the QB…and I be damn if Gilbert is another Chris Simms…lol.

He’s not as a natural runner like McCoy…but he has a better arm, imo. In fact,he reminds me a lot of Bradford. And at 6’5" 205,Gilbert might not be as durable to have him running like they did with McCoy. We shall see.

Bama 33 UT 17. The last touchdown and field goal scored after it’s clear bama is going to win.

The MWC is 3-0 with 2 wins over the Pac 10. Congrats to Geebus on a nice win for Utah.

It has been a good week for the MWC. I hope TCU continues the dominance.

People were saying before that TCU hasn’t beaten anybody yet this year, yet they beat two bowl winning teams that pounced on Pac-10 teams. Another reason TCU should be playing Florida.

A bombshell gets dropped.

Urban to step down at UF…

Apparently having heart trouble, according to some sources.

Yet, afer a “spirited practice” Sunday morning, Meyer has decided to take a leave of absence instead of resigning.

I don’t get it. Is his health an issue or not? Why would he go to the trouble to make such a big announcement only to change his mind after a bowl game-prep/practice?

I think he’s just heartbroken than Timmy’s going to be leaving him.

Yes his heart can’t take the only thing that made him. Tebow is graduating. Sorry just had to do it.

Especially interesting since he was to receive an $800,000 bonus in about 2 days.

I would love to hear what the other players think about him as a coach.

In case anyone was wondering it was severely cold at the Armed Forces Bowl today. Attendance was still decent. Air Force was all over Cougar High. Keenum threw 6 picks. And it was cold.

Oh, and the MWC is 4-0 in bowls so far.

It’s good to see the SEC dominating their bowl games…or not. But I guess they get a pass since the Pac 10 is sucking so much more.

Haven’t they dropped every bowl game vs. ACC schools so far?

I was glad to see Florida hand Cincy their ass on a platter in their ass raping of a game. Cincy got destroyed in every facet of the game, and this is why I don’t think the cinderella schools should be paired with the big boys when it comes time to bowl games.

And had Texas and Bama lost their conference championship games, that could have been a national championship matchup!
