Y’all did really well tonight, but this is shaping up to be a national championship game I won’t want to watch - tx v. Florida? Ugh!

No kidding. I thought Texas-USC Title game was nauseating, I think this matchup might be worse.

 • By worse, I mean two teams that I can’t stand and would rather watch golf on tv.

Wow could never watch golf instead of football. IMO there has not been a quality championship since the TX v. USC. That was the last year there was a clear cut #1 and #2. This year is at least shaping up to the same.
I agree.

It was a great game, I just dislike both programs.

This game had me so pissed, I downed a whole bottle of Nocino last night (homemade liqueur of walnuts) and that shit ain’t easy to make.

Gentleman Jack for me, after drinking beers all day. Didn’t drown the sorrow at all, and made for a long Sunday. Defense was pure garbage. I don’t know what Pete is going to do, but he better fucking do it.
He will go back to the basics, I really don’t know how you recover from shit like that.

Yep. The rest of the schedule is in no way easy. I really hope this doesn’t crush the entire season.

You take it out on your next opponent. I feel sorry for Arizona State this weekend. USC will not be embarrased again.

That was quite possibly the greatest college football game of all time

Repeat this year, Texas v. ________. My vote in this thread very early on was Texas v. Florida. Time will tell.

That was actually a game that lived up to the hype, flat out epic game. I just don’t see how USC hasn’t figured out how to stop a running quarterback like that, hell Vince Young in that game and then against Dennis Dixon back in 07 and now the new Oregon QB in 09. I just don’t get it, a defense with those kind of athletes should be able to stop a mobile quarterback.

For my money, the Ohio State-Miami Title game (Jan 03) was the best college football game I ever saw.

I say that only because both teams defenses played at a high level. Every point scored was definitely earned. The USC-Texas game was more of a shootout.

I can agree with the shootout. I personally love defense and running game. If I didn’t grow up loving Texas I would be a SEC fan. Matchup makes games. That is what the bowls are supposed to do.

It was also a game built up as David vs Goliath, with Miami favored by double digits (I want to say it was 14), which in a National Championship game is pretty rare. Everyone said OSU had no chance even though they pulled all sorts of games out of their ass during the season.

It was one of the few games I really wished I had bet on because I knew OSU would cover.

Even though I could careless about Miami or OSU, Miami got screwed when the refs called that pass interference call on 4th and 9 in the 1st OT (that ball was clearly not catchable)

I really don’t know, I am not sure they can rebound from something that bad. They really looked demoralized.

My thoughts exactly. I know I’M demoralized, and I wasn’t even there! Well, if anybody can pull us back from this, its Pete.

It was definitely ugly for y’all, but y’all have one of the best coaches in college football today, I have no doubt y’all will come out saturday night and just annihilate ASU (I’d be watching that possibly but I’ll be at the Clemson/FSU game watching my Tigers take the lead in the Atlantic Division in the ACC!). Would NOT want to play the real USC this week I can tell ya that much.

Go Tigers. You guys have made about 30,000 new fans in the Horned Frog nation. We will be pulling for you, and we are already wearing purple!

Slightly off topic, but why was Brandon Spikes only suspended for half a game for trying to poke a dudes eyes out?

It’s also amusing that Spikes said after the BCS Title game that OU played dirty.

I honor of OU-Nebraska this weekend, here is some footage from the 1983 classic match-up.

Some interesting notes:

-Spencer Tillman’s leap from the five yard line that would make Reggie Bush jealous.
-Busta Rhymes catching a TD pass and an opportunity at the end to be the hero.
-Mike Rozier running all over the OU defense.

What people don’t know, is how dirty guys play on the field. When you see a fumble and huge piles of men fighting for the ball, you would not believe the shit going on. Guys grabbing nuts, digging fingers into your ear hole, pinching, whatever you can get away with really.

I think Coach Pete is going to run their ass till they dont remember the game. He will have them ready to take out their frustrations. If he doesn’t then they need to fire him.

I agree with your statement, but people who have not played football just think it is a group hug.
