Yep. All dat SEC SPEEEEEEEEEED huh? lol
It isn’t like Texas doesn’t produce massive amounts of speedsters and the OK teams are usually half from TX.
The glaring weakness I noticed was McClaren? not being able to handle pressure in the pocket. He generally collapsed and looked quite Romo-ish. Throwing foolish passes or just wilting to the ground as soon as he was touched. I’m sure he was protecting his future, but looked very poor to me.

Turnovers didn’t help the defense that’s for sure. Oklahoma was unreal on 3rd down, at least when I was watching.

Bama got stuffed, flat out muscled. I really wonder if this has anything to do with the firing of their strength coach. The man was a genius and was behind the strength and speed of that team. Perhaps not, but it’s telling that after he got fired, Bama started to lose.

They only lost 2 games.

There was a pretty glaring statistic they showed last night.
Alabamas offensive line had given up a TOTAL of 10 (I believe) sacks all season long and they have up 6 or 7 last night alone! That’s incredible. No wonder he looked like a deer in headlights at times. He was getting smashed all night.

I mean, they still gave up like 470 yards or something, and almost exclusively through the air. The turnovers are why they ‘only’ had 31 points despite almost putting up 600 yards themselves(that big 12 defense, but we already knew that shit), but their defense basically showed up for the first 5 minutes, and the 3rd quarter, and took the other 40 off.
Going into the game if I told you OK would force 5 turnovers, your average SEC fan would probably say ‘whatever they won’t score anyway, it would just make the game look closer.’ 45 points later…

Very true.

Right after they fired him.

I can’t imagine the loss of the strength and conditioning coach had such an immediate impact.

NOT Scott Cochran, though, right? Wasn’t it an ASSISTANT S&C Coach that was fired, because of NCAA violations involving Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix? (Cochran is the hyper, yelling, motivational S&C coach that was featured on “60 Minutes”).
Yep…agree with Pat…the Tide was stuffed and out-muscled. OU’s defense reminded me of the Bears “86” defense of the mid-80 teams…and Alabama had NO answer for the pressure. They also had problems with OU’s hurry-up spread offense.
Great game, though!
Mufasa
No Bryant, Roby, or Spence for this game is making me really nervous. Clemson pass attack is good enough without missing 3 key players to stop it. This looks like it might get ugly =[
I hear that Run, Pass, Pass is an awesome pattern for an offense. Totally keeps defenses on their heels.
Those were some entertaining games tonight. Oklahoma state and Ohio State both had chances to win, but got bitten by the turnover bug.
Shout out to Bob Stoops for calling out the SEC.

I would have rather seen Oregon/Bama in the Sugar. Stoops (who should have already eaten his words after losing to a team that lost to a bottom half SEC team, but I don’t think he has realized that) will have to eat his earlier comments.[/quote]
I’m guessing bama fans would have rather played the other ou now as well. But Stoops can hold off on eating those words for a little bit longer. OU played their best game of the year by far, it def wasnt the team that got rolled by UT and Bay.
The big game tonight, haven’t really watched much of either one this season. FSU seems to have a lot of hype so I’ll say 31-20 FSU takes it.
God damn you Auburn.
What a fuckin game. BCS goes out with a bang(but I’m still glad it’s gone).
I just watched the highlights of the BSC Final, what a fucking game indeed. I kinda regret not watching the game live - I was watching WWE instead , which was awesome because Jake “the Snake” Roberts returned at the end of the show.
