Yea now lets see what happens.

Oregon vs K state

No SEC

How you like them apples

^^maybe. I could see K State getting beat by Texas in two weeks/whoever they play in the Big12 championship game.

As much as i hate to admit it, I could see Bama still playing for the NC. If they win out and take the SEC title game I could see them playing an undefeated Oregon… Cause ND is going to get rolled by USC in two weeks.

No Big 12 title game anymore - K-State winning out (beating Baylor and Texas) would guarantee them a trip to the NC game.

Oh shoot… It would almost garauntee K-State going.

If K-State squeeks out their next two games and ND rolls SC (not gonna happen) I could see ND jumping them just because they’re ND and it would be a huge story to have them play for the title.

Where is Bama guy? I think I put him on ignore but has he come in here making excuses yet or blaming the refs?

Actually I am more worried about the Wake forest game than I am about the USC game. The one flaw with my Irish is playing to the level of the competition. A Wake Forest team that has nothing to lose (this is their NC game, balls out) is more dangerous in IMO. USC game SHOULD be similar to the OKC game providing the balls are inflated properly  Fact is that the best scenario for $$ is Bama vs ND on Jan 7th.

Big test and failed! But same as last year, Bama still may make it to the NCG even if K-State wins out. It is possible for them to get passed if AL shuts down a highly ranked GA in the SEC Championship game while they sit idle at home. Anyway, gotta love college football!

well, if both K-state and Oregon both win out and are undefeated, they both deserve to go to the BCS game. I dont believe that anyone from the SEC deserve to go to the BCS with a loss when there is two or three undefeated teams.

Yeah, that is why the BCS system is being “refined” with the mini playoff. The other side of the argument is that 6 of the top 9 BCS positions are held by SEC teams and the only losses they have are from each other.

^^SEC teams are always ranked so highly because ESPN has an extremely big influence in the rankings and so happens to have the TV rights to the SEC games. Makes sense to influence he rankings so that the teams your showcasing on your network are highly ranked… More $$$$

SEC=Overrated.

Does it have some great teams? Of course, but top to bottom they’re overrated as a conference.

The reason that SEC’s only losses are to each other is because, for the most part, they don’t play anyone else. Almost every team schedules cupcake schools for their out of conference schedule.

ESPN BLOWS!

I don’t know about you all, but ND has beaten more ranked teams that K State and Oregon. Strength of schedule-wise, ND’s undefeated record is more impressive to me than anything that the other two teams have put together.

Off the top of my head, ND got through

Michigan State
Michigan
Stanford
Oklahoma

Who I know were ranked at the time they played, then there’s:

Miami (FL)
BYU
Pitt
Purdue

Who were no slouches.

Granted, ND still has to beat Wake Forest and USC, but as of this week, the Irish are (gasp!) in the NC game in my opinion. Oregon gets in because they’ve been straight slaughtering teams.

K-State has beaten the following teams that were ranked when they played.

(6)at Oklahoma (currently 12)
(13)at West Virgina (NR)
(14) Texas Tech (23)
(24) Oklahoma State (24)
with (15) Texas still to play.

Notre Dame

(10) at Michigan state (NR)
(18) Michigan (21)
(4) Stanford (13)
(8) Oklahoma (12)

With (18) at USC left to play.

Both played Miami and OU. I don’t give either the edge in either game.

I know Pitt, Purdue, and BYU are powerhouses though. ND was lucky to win against those amazing teams by 3 points.

We will find out about Oregon in the coming weeks. We’ll see how they do against a good (13) Stanford and (16) Oregon State.

The big 10 is garbage this year, so that really hurts ND with the Michigan and Michigan State wins.

Right now though, I’d say Oregon and K-State are interchangeable at 1 and 2, with Notre Dame a distant 3.

Since the BCS era began:

National championship records:
SEC: 8-1
Big 10: 1-3
Pac 12: 1-2 *Let’s not forget that the one loss came last year to another SEC team
ACC: 2-4
Big 12: 2-4

BCS bowl records:
SEC: 16-7
Big 10: 12-13
Pac 12: 11-7 *Only the SEC and Pac-12 have winning records
ACC: 2-13
Big 12: 9-10

Overall bowl records:
SEC: 61-44
Big 10: 41-48
Pac 12: 35-36 *Only the SEC has a winning record
ACC: 43-47
Big 12: 48-50

Regardless of who ends up winning this Stanford/Oregon game, this kid Kevin Hogan playing quarterback for Stanford is going to be one of the top quarterbacks coming out of college in a couple years. He’s a redshirt freshman as of now.

I love his ability to escape pressure and make accurate throws while off-balance or on the run. He’s also got great pocket presence. I’ve seen him make some good throws several times now with a lot of pressure right in his face, and he isn’t throwing off his back foot when he makes those throws either.

Granted, he hasn’t put much points on the board yet and he’s only made one or two starts, but he looks like he has all the requisite tools to be a really good NFL prospect by the 2015 or 2016 draft.
