The punch in the throat didn’t raise my hackles. That happens. Hell, I’ve seen that in soccer games. It’s the facemask pull on Denard Robinson that I thought was particularly dangerous. Denard was held down by a pile of guys and Gholston nearly pulls his helmet completely around.
Its the first video on this page: start at about 25 secs.
“I deeply regret momentarily losing my composure late in the third quarter of last Saturday’s game against Michigan,” Gholston said Thursday in a statement released by the school. “Although provoked, my response was inappropriate. Coach Dantonio regularly reminds us that actions have consequences, and I will be better prepared to handle these circumstances in the future.”

How is it he gets suspended for throwing a punch that doesn’t do much damage or have the potential to given the guy is wearing a helpmet and almost out of reach? BUT the neck twisting isn’t mentioned related to the suspension or in his ‘spology’, huh? The twisting could easily herniate a disc, tear something lose, etc…
That said, I was interested in the Wisconsin - Michigan State matchup until now.
Going to be at the Stanford VS. Washington game today. Still seems odd though that it’s two ranked teams playing each other, but Stanford is a 20+ point favorite…
Guess that’s what happens when you have Luck.
As far as the Heisman goes, I think Richardson is definitely up there with Luck as a lot of you have mentioned, with Russell Wilson and Kellen Moore being on the second tier.
It’s all going to come down to the final rankings though, and the championship game.

the SEC south is the TOUGHEST neighborhood in college football. Nov. 5 will be the national champioinship game, between LSU and BAMA. quote me.
It’s crazy because whatever team wins that game will go the national championship, but who will they play? Oklahoma took themselves out of it. Oklahoma state is still undefeated, but they still can lose to Oklahoma. Wisconsin pretty much took themselves out of it. Boise St. is still undefeated but they didn’t win very impressively against Air Force. Clemson has a chance to run the table. Stanford still has to play Oregon.
The question is, will the winner of the LSU vs. Alabama game play a team with one loss for the national championship? I wouldn’t want Boise St. to be in the national championship if they are the only other undefeated team left.
If LSU/Bama weren’t in the same division I’d say this might be the year the SEC had a shot at the all SEC BCS title game(Stanford vs Oregon, OKstate vs OU, Clemson vs South Carolina wouldn’t be insane upsets, and would clear the path unless Boise got that respect from the computers).
A week ago with how good OU and Wisc had looked I thought that would be crazy talk, but they just took themselves out of it. Obviously it’s crazy talk anyways because they are in the same division but it crossed my mind.
You had to see the Wisconsin thing coming. Like I mentioned last week they always blow a game they should have won. I can only imagine that maybe they start to believe their overhypedness.
Looks like I should have stayed up and watched the games. Oddest thing I saw in the A&M game was a personal foul for a late hit on the Iowa State quarterback who was running up field, hit in the shoulder with the A&Ms guy shoulder, still standing and the whistle had not blown. So, for that moment, hitting a guy cleanly while still standing and no whistle = personal foul, late hit. The annoucers were dumbfounded.
I’ll admit the loses of Wisconsin and Oklahoma made the season far more interesting.

All SEC National Championship. I am callin it.
That would be amazing.
Bama was slow in the beginning but they finished fine and have had identical scores against same teams played with LSU. It should be a great game. Regardless of who wins this game is going to be epically physical.
Also just for note. Tennessee was our closest game to a loss in our 2009 championship year. SEC games can go either way, we can be undefeated and still lose to auburn. SEC schools will fight you to the end even if they are 2-7
