I agree,
This is the last speck of the game, where it isn’t an outright business enterprise. I don’t like pro football for this reason, too many overpaid cry babies. I like seeing these young men fighting for their school and their own career.
There are fewer things better, than watching a personally heated game, like a rivalry game, which comes down to the wire. My 1993 loss to UCLA, which came down to less than a minute left in the game, still makes me shiver, watching QB Rob Johnson throw in INT in the endzone to win it.
Let the boys play, just not to Chad OchoCinco level.
Not being an “the ohio state” fan…what is the real mood/status of what the fans expect. Not just for now, but in the future. The troubled past will not go quietly without some costs and pains. Do you think you will select a new coach of let the interim guy steer the ship until the program is ready to ramp back up?
We expect to win. lol
I believe the NCAA is gonna come down hard on the bucks after how they punished USC for their mistakes.
I feel a new coach is needed right away. Fickels decisions have just been awful. I mean seriously… Nebraska couldn’t stop the run and OSU gouges them for 178 yds rushing in the first half…you lose your QB, and then you try to go to a strictly finesse passing game?! This is why D-Lineman don’t become head coaches. No offense to any of the awesome D-Lineman I have played with but sometimes the trenches just does bad things to your brain.
Greetings everyone,
Can’t believe I’ve missed half the season. Looks like there’s another TCU fan on the board.
I can’t believe I am this excited to have beaten SDSU. It has been a frustrating year. Was a long bus ride back from Waco. The D has issues. Pachall is the real deal.
I am ecstatic to be heading to the Big 12 (or however many). That goes for baseball too, which is actually my favorite sport.
My #2 team Bama looks great.
Don’t look now but UNT is no longer the worst team in D1. The new coach and new stadium have made a dent.
Pulled a hamstring about 3 weeks ago so my training is down. Was gonna do my first PL meet in 8 years next week.

I understand the “win” factor LOL.
sounds like Fickels has a bad case of the “have to show what a great coach he is”…happens a lot, guys get a chance and instead of letting the really good assistants coach and help drive success, the new head coach has to put his finger in everything and soon it’s a shit pile…kinda like John Blake, he was set up for success, with the “forced coordinators” he had to hire for his first year, he then proceeded to be such an ass they left and he began to hire friends…and well the rest is history…same thing happens a lot and you see the program just begin to sink like the Titanic…Like I said I’m not an TOSU fan, but as a true college football, it just doesn’t seem right when TOSU, Michigan, USC, Nebresaka, FSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Texas, Penn State, Florida, Georgia aren’t banging it out with Alabama, LSU, OU, for the top spot…I mean don’t you find it really weird to See Boise State in the top 10 and the other schools listed not? For now the mantra has to be…

Spike you were all over this thread last year, never worry this will be an annual thing for years to come.
Also glad that TCU is heading the the BIG 12, helps keep it alive and I believe will help TCU maybe finally get some real recognition without the *
Wow! I really thought the Garcia release from South Carolina would have been mentioned by now. So I will do it.
Me? I think it was deserved. At a personal level I have no issues with drinking and recreational drug use, but he has had more than enough chances. He signed off on the agreement that he would adhere to and he got busted. He has been playing pretty much terrible, he has been in trouble 5 times and was warned. So he’s done. Fuck him.
Problem is now they are relying on Shaw. They only have a freshman with no experience at back up, but I think it was time to move on. The QB situation has been plaguing them for years. They just need to thrust Shaw in there and leave him there for better or worse. It’s the only way to know what you really have.
My gut tells me that they are better off, but my gut has been wrong before.

Shaw could throw for 33% on the season and be a better fit than Garcia, unquestionably. Character concerns aside, the guy was a mess on the field because of his constant hot/cold streakiness or inability to play because of suspensions.
ANY kind of continuity at QB will be better served for them than having that tyrant at the helm.
Whats up with all these torn Pecs going on in Football?
Used to never hear of this.
I don’t know, torn pecs in football was rare and now it seems to happen more often.
Nebraska doesn’t play this weekend, I am trying to see what games would be good to watch. Not a lot of good matchups this weekend. The only game that peaks my interests is Baylor vs. A&M. I see Baylor taking this one.

I have a theory.
Defenders can’t lead with their head anymore. Which is a good thing, don’t get me wrong. But when the head is taken out of the picture so are the shoulders. Defensive players are using their arms more than ever to wrangle WR’s, RB’s, QB’s, etc. When a defender doesn’t square up and use his shoulder his arms are more succeptible to injury, particularly injuries like torn pecs and posterior (and anterior as well?) shoulder dislocations.
Naturally I could be 1000% full of steamy bullshit, but it’s what I believe. Namely because it happened to me. I had a rash of dislocations and each one happened while my arm was out on its’ own. Once while being tagging a sliding runner at third base, twice during football, and finally while high fiving a buddy.
Pec injuries seem to fall in line similarly, especially at high speed.

If Baylor wins, especially if it another game when it seems like A&M is just woefully unprepared in the second half, there will be calls for coaching staff changes.
Michigan vs Michigan State should be interesting. OSUck vs Illinois should be interesting as well. If UM and Illinois both win there will be three teams in the Big 10+2 that are undefeated. Illinois and UM play later, but there is chance there will be two undefeated teams at the end of the season.
In other news, should Boise State go Big East or should the Big East die hopefully with the BCS in 2013?

Boise should try to get into the Big 12. Them winning the Big East still won’t mean garbage as far as strength of schedule. They’ll get the AQ status currently but hopely the Big East will lose that status.

I agree, fuck Garcia. He had his chances, more than most.
Sadly it looks like Arkasas is on a by so I can’t wish Coach Petrino to get sodomized by various football implements. So maybe he’ll get the flu and die. What ever works…
Sorry Dixie, maturity is not one of my strong points…

Well I had a bad week last week picking winners I am guessing 50% without actually looking at it. Though I generally pick on passion and preference, unless I don’t have one for a team.
My winners are:
Michigan State, Baylor (Yep, I think Griffin III is that good), Perdue, Game Cocks, N. Corolina, LSU (duh), OK State, GA Tech, Illinios, Tide, Boise, Clemson, Bulldogs, Stanford, Ducks
