Anything is possible, but no, I do not think we will win Saturday. I didn’t think we’d beat Alabama either, but the idea that it can’t POSSIBLY be a competitive game is just silly. It was silly before last weekend too. On any given Saturday, anything can happen in the SEC, unless you are playing a team like Vanderbilt or Kentucky. But again, after getting blown out at home, I don’t see the true freshman backup starting his first game at one of the hardest places in the country to play pulling out the big upset.
Lol @ drunk. So jelly. It can definitely be competitive. Florida’s front 7 had better learn how to hold their gaps FAST though. I know Bama has a bruising O-Line but they played overly aggressive and undisciplined… like a young defense. :frowning: Beating LSU would definitely be a big statement, though. Florida is by no means out of the SEC race, considering someone is going to come out a loser between LSU/Bama and there is a conference championship to be played. You’re right, though, it’s a damn shame we have to go into Death Valley, lol.

I’m not sure I’m ready to annoint LSU’s defense as better than Bama’s nor am I willing to say the reverse. Right now I think both of those teams look really freaking similar.

Stong D, run first O and weakest at QB.

Should make for a hell of a game, last three games have had an average margin of victory of six points and I’m betting than whoever wins that will hold true this time.
Definitely, it’s going to be an insane game. I do like Bama in the match-up. I think Trent Richardson may very well be the next AP (big claim, I know,) but he’s a monster and Marquese Maze (sp?) is starting to become a very dynamic player - a la Percy Harvin/Randall Cobb.

I think the LSU may unquestionably have the most talented front 4 in the nation, but I like speedy, smart and disciplined linebackers at Bama a little bit more.

Plus, Les Miles will not luck his way into winning against Nick Saban. Not gonna happen.
Agreed. I was brekaing this game down last night and to me it looked like this.

D-Line: Advantage LSU
Linebackers: slight advantage bama
Secondary: push- there might be four NFL DB’s on the field that game.
O-line: slight advantage Bama
RB’s: advantage Bama
QB: slight advantage LSU
Special teams: slight advantage LSU

Result: a close game where multiple players get knocked out of the game. hopefully just for the game.

In my mind I can see Bama winning in the fourth riding Richardson for the winning TD. I’m willing to admit that my perception could be colored thuogh.

Yea idk much about nebraska football but it seemed like their offense isnt too effective. Taylor martinez can run like the wind but as long as wiscy took good angles he wasnt going very far.
I really liked what Nebraska theoretically had going but I think they’re going to learn hard and fast that the spread doesn’t work in the Big-10. I hate to give props to the B1G but if you can’t pound the rock after, oh, mid-October you’re not going to end up winning, haha. Nebraska has had the fortune of playing in some warmer-weather states, and also played in a conference known for fairly poor pass defense. It’s going to be interesting to see if the team philosophy changes while Polini is in tenure.
Something has to change, on both sides of the ball. The defense isn’t living up to their potential, and the offense needs to use their backs that can run and pound the ball.

Going to take a few years, after playing 90% spread teams over the last 5-7 years in the Big 12.

I know, but I think I am upset mostly with our defense right now, its always been good. I think we are rated 64th right now. sad.

Pellini’s a good D-Coach, he was at Oklahoma for a year, it was a mixed result, he wanted to follow his system, and the current D-Coordinator tends to adjust to players/other teams. Pellini instilled some techniques and motivation that was valuable and helped a lot, BUT his refusal to adjust hurt at times ( for example when he was here in Oklahoma, he coached the secondary and no matter what coverage/defense woudl never and I mean never play the corners up and have them disrupt the reciever off the line, always played them back 5 yards, this worked a lot of the times but some teams exploited it). My point is I think until he gets all the type players for his system his defense will be up and down. But I do know from his time in the Big 12, not very often did they ever stink two games in a row…Nebreska will be good again, and soon,

Good luck…if you start feeling really bad just remember this…Bill Callahan is gone!

Heh heh heh, SI says OU is Darth Vader, texas is Princess Leia.

So OU is Bevo’s daddy? Nice.

Michigan as Boba Fett. Not a bad analogy, as nerdy as that whole article is.

Pretty good line about my Huskers and their game this week, lol.

So if the Blackshirts need a confidence boost after getting Wookied by Wisconsin last week, Saturday should be their lucky day.

Sounds about right, we dominate the universe and everyone wants to lay with us. Plus we look awesome in swimsuits and can fire a lazer.

Man… fucking Anakin. :stuck_out_tongue:

Pretty stoked about how Alabama raped Florida as predicted earlier.

Screw auburn, they did not beat S.Carolina S.Carolina lost that game for themselves. They let themselves go and that last TD was so bs.

Wisconsin worried me there for a little.

Roll Tide
Gators juts flat-out blew it yesterday. I have no idea how Muschamp didn’t prepare that defense for the inevitable smash mouth that was bound to ensue. Not happy with it, but that’s life.

Wisconsin, by the way, is a team to be GREATLY worried about. Besides RGIII there is no QB playing better than Russel Wilson right now (Sorry WestCoast, that means Andrew Luck too, IMO.)

Wisconsin is legit, especially this year.
I don’t think they blew it, I think they are that team and is no match for Alabama. Most teams aren’t.

I agree South Carolina beat themselves, particularly Spurrier stole defeat from the jaws of victory. Hmmmm, let’s see the game’s on the line give it to Garcia who complete’s less than 50% of his passes and is an asshat most of the time, or give it to your play makers a.k.a Lattimore and make your blocks…hmmmm Don’t know what to do, guess will give it to Garcia who is a moron. Arrrg!

The ol’ Ball Coach needs to hang it up man. Forcing a passing game with a less than stellar QB when you’ve got a real studhorse running the rock.

The Garcia kid isn’t a high level QB, but I don’t think it’s his fault for being yanked. Spurrier can’t yank himself (out of the game at least) and someone has to pay. Once again, the cocks excel prematurely and then fall out of the picture completely. Wonder what this says about Georgia.

Not saying he’s perfect, but South Carolina was in the SEC championship game last year and a top 10 team this year (even if they were overrated). I’d say he’s done a pretty good job with what he’s got.

Garcia has games where he looks like a first round draft pick and then he’ll have two straight games where you wonder if he’s seen the playbook before.

Called this last weekend. Hope the kid well maybe he will turn it around somewhere.

Is it me or is the schedule just weird this weekend?

OU and UT at noon?
LSU and Florida at 3:30?

Why does Auburn and Arkansas get night game? While the better two teams play early?

DEEJ!

I think the OU-UT game is early because it limits tailgating time. Plus isn’t it at the Texas State Fair?

The vendors are probably like “hey man, if these fuckers get to tailgate all day they ain’t goona eat our deep fried sticks of butter!”
