I thought they were just filling dead air with a replay of some game from earlier this season?
exactly.

Is it just me or does this years NC Game seem under hyped? Usually there is a big buzz about the NC Game but this one seems to lack that? (maybe since the last one was hyped up more than any college game before it and it was such a let down nationally)
No its being hyped, you, me and PMPM just could give a rats ass.

Im a lot closer to the SEC than you, I mean I am 4 hours away from Baton Rouge. My boss is an alum, believe me its getting hyped.

Maybe cause of just how much the NFL playoffs are maybe sucking some of they hype, I dont know.

It’s hard to hype up a game everyone saw a couple of months ago.

who’s ready for the Offensive Suck Bowl tonight? Its going to be a barn burner.

/trolling

Im going to the gym at 6 so I might come home and watch the second half… I actually think this game will be better/more exciting than the last one (how could it be worse)
Don’t worry I’m sure there are going to be some flag football reruns of Pac-10 games showing somewhere.

/Also trolling.

^ Lol I was so waiting for Joe to come slap us around for disrespecting the SEC

Honestly though every college football fan should be happy this happened because maybe it will get the Big-10 and PAC-10 to stop being A-holes and get onboard for at least a plus one.

Say what you what about the SEC and some of our idiot fans but conference wise we’ve been pushing for some kind of play off for a while.

Agreed.

^from what I keep hearing it is OSUck alum that is stopping much of the +1 talk. Maybe they realize that they van be completely left out.

I seem to recall the SEC pushing hard for a playoff back in 2000 when an undefeated Auburn team was left out.

Seems the rest of the country didnt give a shit.

Now SEC is dominating, and everyone is bitching.

Hmmm…

Why would the big10 van be left out? Year after year the big10 gets a lot of respect from voters(obviously this forum thinks it’s unwarranted respect), so a big10 champion team is at no risk of being left out in any given season that they put up a good record(this year they were all 2+ losses so obviously it wouldn’t have happened).

OSUck has benefited more than any other team under the BCS, no need for them to support any change.

I cannot remember who, but someone high up associated with OSUck has been killing playoff talks.

two and a half hours to go, clock says 0105, its time for some coffee…

You could argue that they’ve actually not benefited the most, because through the outcome of 2 games(one of which they were the only undefeated team in the nation, and not a controversial entrant into the NC game) they have become some kind of universal focus of hate. I think they’ve made a BCS game as an at large once(maybe twice, I can’t remember off the top of my head if the year they beat ND was at large or not).

I’m not sure why you have this eternal axe to grind with the school. They have a winning record in BCS games despite the 2 obviously front and center bad performances(the loss to LSU gets blown way out of proportion like it was a beatdown equal to the one Florida put on). There are other schools with pretty terrible track records in the BCS bowls that seem to get free passes because OSU is the ‘easy target.’ Perhaps you should get over it.

Perhaps the school should be flattered that you apparently think they have the power to hold up the process though.

Edit: To correct myself, OSU has actually been at large 4 times, I always forget about the 2 very early in the BCS era(it started in 98, don’t know why that always slips my mind at first, I definitely have a bias to the 02 national championship like that’s somehow when it began =pp).

I am just parroting what I have read for the most part.

My disdain for OSUck comes from my experience at the school. I will say the admistrative staff there were always helpful, beyond it really was soul killing. So much so that the department I was in were losing their top professors because they did not want to raise families in Columbus or work in that environment. Bear in mind this was a top 5 department in my discipline. My time there was hands down the worst period of my life.

Oh, and I married a UM grad.

At least I am not screaming about shoving large objects in to particularly small orifices on certain bodies.

Texas AG is talking about Jim Delany, the Big 10’s commissioner.

He has been outspoken with his lack of a desire for a playoff. He recently said that he wouldnt be opposed to a playoff as long as the Big 10 held on to its current deal to land its conference champion in the Rose Bowl.

He has been one of the main opposers to a playoff, FYI.

I am aware of Delany’s stance on the subject, I was pointing out how he has taken the Big10 commissioner/Big10 as a whole, and their position in the procedure of moving towards a +1 or playoff system, and pinned it on OSU.

There is no such thing as a school with enough power to single handedly influence such things(not to say there are not schools with A LOT of influence though). Clearly it’s more than some OSU boosters threatening their financial backing that is holding up their position as a conference.
