And run the risk of blowing up a knee or injuring himself further while NOT getting paid? I think it can be roundly agreed that these two guys are NFL ready. Why not get paid, get benefits, and get endorsments now?

How do you feel about it Greg

Yes I meant Trent Richardson.
no way trent richardson stays. he basically already said during the middle of the season that he was leaving. During an interview he said something to the effect of “man, i’ve got kids to take care of. I gotta do what I gotta do.” With regards to staying in school or going to the draft.

Richardson is 100% gone after this season and will be a first rounder.

I think its tough for ball because people are saying that if he comes back he could raise his stock and become a 1st rounder. The difference in money from a 1st rounder RB to a 3rd round RB is a ton… and he isnt going to be getting any endorsement deals as a 3rd round pick ya know?

If i was Ball I would probably go. He’s got the stats/tape from this year and if he can work with a good outfit like API and have a great combine then he could work his draft stock up a bit without playing another season. its a tough call. he really could just love going to school at Wisconsin though?
As for Richardson, here’s what I’m going off of.

But then this writer doesn’t think so

As for Ball, I still don’t understand it.

Maybe not enough people got to see him play? I saw him in both games against MSU, the loss to OSU, and the Rose Bowl. He dominates, he’s a stud, he’s ready now.

I get that going to Wisconsin might very well be the bees knees, but he’s an RB that will take a ton of reps next season. That wear and tear takes ticks off his money making clock IMO.
Look up Demarco Murry Brad, his stats were out of this world at Oklahoma, Dallas got him in 3rd.

In this article Richardson is quoted as saying:

As long as Richardson stays healthy, he figures to become a millionaire next spring if he foregoes his final college season and enters the NFL draft.

“They’ve got to eat,” Richardson said. “I know they get happy when they see me on TV or out on the field. It keeps a smile on my face. In the long run, they won’t have to want for anything at all. I could provide for my whole family.”

He’s gone. No way he comes back. He’s a top 10 pick.

Are you thinking Rams? No way, they need serious OL help.

I say somewhere in the high 20’s.

I totally see what you’re saying. We’ll see. You’re probably right.

Think I was steered wrong by Petros and Money last night on the radio regarding Richardson and then did my own research today.

Ball is going to break Sanders TD record next season(calling it), staying is for sure a good idea for him because he is going to get CRAZY hype that will make up for 1 season of lost money as a maybe late 2nd round pick(he said in his interview that he acknowledges with a GREAT combine he could raise stock to round 2, but he still doesn’t think it’s worth it).

I don’t think Trent is going top10 in this draft btw, too many stud lineman that eat up those top draft slots, and then the absolutely crazy standout skill guys that are graded ahead of him(and are needs for teams in high position): Luck/RG3, Claiborne, and Blackmon. He’s going to fall to mid 1st, which trickles down to Ball’s decision being even smarter.

I think there is no way that Ball breaks sanders record. He only “tied” the record this year while counting his bowl game TD’s… Sanders bowl game TD’s from that season arent counted in the record… and he had FIVE!

Their offense isnt going to be nearly as good next season without Wilson and wont be putting up as many points = Less TD’s for Ball

Cotton Bowl has been a good game.

Hope Williams is okay.

Amen. Before anything else is said, I hope he is alright.

So far good game. Our defense looks light years better than it has all year. New defensive coordinator has already won me over.

First, Kansas St, yall played a good game, congrats on coming to the Cotton Bowl.

That being said…

GO HOGS GO.

I only watched the first half but Adams return for a touchdown had some of the best blocking I have seen a team do on a return. Especially one early in the return where the guy dove and blocked the K State player cleanly in the chest, rode him down, as was back on his feet to return to the game in seconds.

Dixie, y’all’s defense did look awesome. Damnit.

Let’s give Fox credit for showing the bands at half time. I miss that in ESPN and ABC coverage.

Glad for you. Some good friends of mine are Hog fans - so congrats to ya’ll.

That was good football in all aspects to watch. I would like to have seen the difference had K-State not dropped so many passes but that is just part of it.

And Bobby Petrino still pisses me off when he screams in the ear of his players for things like not finding the open man when being pursued by a 300 lb. freight train.

LOL you act like he is the only coach who yells at his players.

He can yell all he wants, he led Arkansas to two 10 win seasons (now one 11 win season, first since 1977) in 4 years, Nutt couldnt do that in 10 years. He took us to our first BCS bowl ever (where we lost to a great team). He has got the state actually excited about football again, instead of always bitterly waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I think if he doesn’t go #5 to Tampa he’ll go in the mid to high teens.

I absolutely agree with you about the running back position but Richardson can run as well inside as outside and catches well out of the back field. Not tons of guys who can do all three. I think a guy like Richardson can save you a roster spot if you don’t have to carry a third down back or a short yardage guy.

No way Tampa Bay, their D is porous as hell, Blunt is a 3 down back, they need a Sproiles type back to compliment him.

Yea dont let me fool you, worked out this morning just ate lunch and now waiting for Texans play I am watching it. SMU is putting the smack down on Pitt.

SMU defense end that is 280 and 6’8" looks a lot like J Allen build, could be a developmental pick for someone
