Same could be said for Notre Dame.

We’ll see. They need to whooop ass tonight though.
have you seen ND’s schedule for next year? They’re going to have a horrible record next year.
That’s why I said that. Everyone is equal when the season won’t start for 8 months…

8 long miserable joy-less months.

shit.

VT looks sloppy

Go Blue!

They straight stole that one tho

Let’s not return to our earlier.discussion.

GO BLUE & GIG’EM AGs

Anybody have a count of the non-BCS bowl.games that have higher ranked opponents than the Orange Bowl?

Nope but there have to a few.

That said Clemson is probably worlds better than either of the two teams we watched last night.

Well we know for a fact half of that because they murdered VT twice.

UM was playing good football at the end but they had plenty of ugly wins this season. The break did not help them, they needed consistency.

The Cotton Bowl should be good. Most likely the last game I watch until September.

Michigans’ defense was winded going into the fourth quarter. That 4th and 11 play which VT got the first broke UM’s backs. You could see it. D-linemen were panting and the LB’s and secondary were slow to get into position.

VT had it won IMO when they tied it 17 all with the two point conversion. They just had to put the hammer down, but they didn’t and it cost them.

Not sure why VT didn’t punt the ball clean and make Michigan drive all the way down the field, and that was their mistake.

In OT I thought the kid caught that touchdown pass. I’m a Michigan fan too, but the replay to me was a catch, or at least not enough evidence to overturn the call.

It was a big win for UM. Huge. I’m excited for the upcoming year(s) when Hoake can get away from all the little speedy plays and start pounding the ball. Toussaint isn’t the answer at RB, but hopefully now they’ve shown that they deserve to be in the mix.

CBS Sports is saying that it was a bust of a sugar bowl. Slow action all game with 12,000 empty seats in the dome. He believes Kansas State and Boise should have been the teams in that game, and that they would have filled the house. I believe Kansas State is just fine with getting an SEC school to compete against this Friday night. Boise did get screwed though, a Top Ten team playing in the Maaco bowl in Vegas against a non ranked team? That’s pretty shitty, and they would have been a quality matchup for either UM or VT.

All I know, is that when Gibbons won the game by a field goal in OT my 37 y/o ass jumped off the couch and pumped my fist to Hail to the Victor.

Congrats to Michigan on the win. Although I agree that more deserving teams were passed up for a BCS appearance, MU can only play the game they were put in and made the most of the opportunity.

Brady Hoke is a hell of a fucking good coach. I think Michigan is going to be the class of their division, if not the entire Big Ten, for years to come.

Cotton Bowl, the Capital One Bowl, and the Outback bowl was very close with #16 and #17 (Clemson is #15)

It’s University of Michigan = UM

When you type “MU” I think of cows and then I get home sick and hungry.

we could very well have a “split” national championship this season…

"Unless Alabama absolutely dominates LSU and leaves no doubt that it is a superior football team, I will be voting for LSU. I am voting for the No. 1 team in the country for the 2011 season, not the result of one game. … you have to consider the scope of the entire season, not the timing of one loss.?
– AP voter Joe Giglio,

I’m sure that OK State will get some votes too. I hope this turns into just another public outcry for a playoff/plus1 system.

AP Voters are an interesting bunch.

There’s 65 of them. Wonder if they get together once a year in one place and devise a way to screw w the rankings, or if they really try to honor the system.

Nope they make as much sense as this picture.

What makes you say this? I could understand if they had a million turnovers or something, but nebraska didn’t score the entire second half. It was a fight the whole first half, but the second was a beat down.
I meant I felt we were the better team going in the game. We weren’t the better team that night.

Go Clemson!

^^LOL

West Virginia is absolutely DEMOLISHING Clemson right now. They almost hung half a hundred on em and its only half.

I knew they put up 21 points on LSU’s defense and racked up well over 500 yards but WOW… their offense is really good.

Though to be fair, they have been helped by that 99 yard fumble return (great heads up play by the WV defender), followed by Clemson throwing a ball right to the WV defender, followed by Clemson fumbling on bout the 25.

All in all, Clemson looks horrible. Major adjustments needed at halftime.
