I made the rookie error of not getting a blood test before starting Clomid 100mg ED and Anastrazole 0.5mg EOD. I did this for about 5 weeks and got a blood test with the following results (with reference ranges in brackets). My stats are 23yo, 182cm, started at 100kg, at I’d guess 23-25% BF.
TESTOSTERONE 37.5 nmol/L (7.60 - 31.40)
FREE-TESTOSTERONE(CALCULATED) 0.716 nmol/L (0.30 - 1.00)
17-BETA ESTRADIOL 177 pmol/L (0.00 - 191.99)
SEX HORMONE BINDING GLOB 48.3 nmol/L (16.00 - 55.00)
Though I didn’t take a blood test before, I do think my testosterone increased quite a bit as I can predict I’d be somewhere in the middle of the range due to my body fat percentage and the relatively long time I’d been in a calorific deficit (If I had always been at the higher end, I would have been naturally leaner). I had been in roughly 500 calorie deficit for a few months at this point, and still am, so pretty much all of my lifts had stalled. After roughly a week, I noticed backne and an improvement (not so much an increase in frequency but intensity - I actually noticed that I thought about sex less) in libido. After 3 weeks, that had subsided (the test was taken at 5 weeks). I tried upping my Anastrazole dosage to 0.5mg ED, but that caused me huge issues (insomnia, tiredness etc.). My lifts improved somewhat (though there could have been other factors at play), but specifically my traps got noticeably bigger and I could handle more weight in shrugs. Around week 5, I had become a bit leaner, in addition to some strength gains.
Clearly 100mg Clomid a day is an insane dosage and so I decreased it to 50mg a day after about 2 months. I’m currently doing 3 weeks on, 1 week off.
I had a couple of questions about this.
-
How do increase my free test? I know it’s at an OK point at the moment but I want every advantage I can get.
-
Why is my Estradiol so high, if increasing the dosage of Anastrazole a little bit completely crashed my Estradiol? Is this just a quirk of my body - I require a high level of E to function properly?
-
How do I get back that improved libido? It was kinda fun when I had it.

Will this cause my hormone profile to be worse than it started off at when I stop taking Clomid? That’s the biggest reason I’m not taking AAS - and if Clomid is just as bad, I might as well take AAS.
