Not one polling organization or news agency of note predicted a W for Trump.
Only that Reps didn’t build the dossier or hire a British spook to compile unverified allegations from Kremlin spooks.
So that’s how you got those awesome delts! Carrying water. ![]()
Was Trump’s campaign surveiled? Since Manafort was a member of that campaign, and he was surveilled, that answer is yes. Surveillance casts a wide net, if it’s any good.
Get a law degree and then intelligently discuss Dershowitz’s opinions. Until then you’re way out of your areas of expertise, like much of the crap you spew on here. This thread is going to devolve into a google competition among people speculating on facts and making up law. It’s amusing but part of the bigger problem in this country. Every idiot has a strong opinion about things in which they have zero experience or education.
Those metrics (the national ones) were still within margin of error. Even on the lowball of the predictions he still would have pulled north of 55M votes. Clearly plenty of people thought he’d win, imo.
And that means nobody thought he’d win? The ~63Mil people that showed up did so without the slightest inkling that he’d win? 63 million got out of bed and went down to the voting station and went “well he’s got no chance at all, but ima vote for him anyway?”
I don’t practice law, that’s probably why I would in fact find it interesting.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding the charge here, as I certainly don’t know the truth.
But my understanding is the charge is that Jr meet with a foreign agent for the express purpose to get her nation’s intelligence against his father’s opponent. Now when I say intelligence, I don’t mean things the NYT would print if they were so inclined, I mean intelligence, like State information intelligence.
If that isn’t treason, then my idea of treason is way, way off course.
The basis for treason may be found under Section 3 of Article III of the US Constitution. It’s worth reading in conjunction with SCOTUS’s 1945 decision in Cramer v. United States. You can easily find a list of the number of people convicted in the US of treason online. All I can say is good luck with that. I’m not trying to be difficult but it’s simply not going to happen.
Well yeah. That’s how elections work. When I lived in Allegheny county I voted for local folks that lost by 80 or more points. People who care about voting, vote. Gary Johnson got votes FFS. What were his chances of winning?
Except she wasn’t a foreign agent, and didn’t deliver the work of the Kremlin’s intelligence agency. And news agencies have been let off the hook for publishing classified information they got from dubious sources.
As long as you don’t commission or cause the dubious act that got the information you can publish it. It’s protected speech.
ehhhhh. you kinda know that’s nowhere near the same. Even the national polls that were predicting like 45% vote for Trump still had him within MoE to win.
I get that maybe SOME people didn’t think he’d win, but I’ve got an awful lot of relatives who were damn sure of it when they showed up to vote.
Dude the shear amount of laughter I will get out of the whole “but Russia” coming back as a fat nothing burger on team trump will be worth any and all of it.
If this fucking guy can somehow come out of this whole Russia mess smelling like roses I’d probably tear up from laughter.
So no worries from me on that account.
This is where I’m getting mixed up.
By that logic it was foolish for anyone to vote for Hillary since she didn’t win. I’m sure a lot of Hillary voters “knew” she’d win when they went to the polls. That’s why we actually have the elections.
omg the amount of “see you tonight” and premature celebrating on my facebook feed was crazy. Nothing like that in 2012. 2012 was very reserved optimism and “fingers crossed”. 2016 was very much “this is inevitable”.
Literal paragraphs of how this is so wonderful for “our” daughters, on and on and on…
and then… then… “grab em by the pussy” won.
I’m still amazed. It’s still just straight up shocks the shit out of me.
Correct. The HRC voters probably thought she would win. The Trump voters probably thought he’d win. That’s why your “Nobody thought Trump was going to win. Nobody.” line seems so weird.
My point is simply that this whole sordid ordeal will be tried in the court of public opinion. I seriously doubt that Trump had any nefarious political arrangements with the Russians. I wouldn’t be at all surprised though if his business dealings with them violated the FCPA at some point, but that will likely not excite anyone. As for the uranium deal and the Clintons that did surprise me, but again we need to wait for facts to come out. As much as I dislike the DNC and HRC I’m going to have a very hard time wrapping my mind around a case of actual bribery of the Clintons by the Russians.
We all need to remember that Russian involvement with western politics goes back decades (see the anti-nuke movement in Europe during the 80s), their goal is to disrupt and delegitimize, and most of these arguments fall right into their hands.
At some point the parties need to step back from the brink.
They were afraid of getting caught?
Had to shut some folks off the next day when the “how can I look my daughter in the eye and tell them a bad man became President… ![]()
![]()
” started rolling in.
a lot of those two. My brother and sister in law were in total meltdown mode.
It was… insane
Does being a “British spook” carry sinister or untoward connotations? Serious question.
If it would give me awesome delts, not only would I carry Trump’s water, I’d drink it.
Get caught before the election? Seems unlikely.
This story just keeps getting better. Nobody seems to know how someone or people got paid $12 million for information on trump from moscow, but Russia meddled in the election for trump? Denial and finger pointing is leading to some sore finger muscles and sore eyes.
Im interested to see how the data scientists & analytics folks dealt with wiki leaks. If they teamed up and launched well timed social media campaigns in target areas based on Russian info thats pretty amazing. In all reality theres enough meat for both sides to chew on. I say its all lip service till Mueller wraps it up. Intrested to see if Trump jr testifies. Still got fingers crossed for pee tape
