Your posts are the reason I started this thread. As far as the first part of your post you make claims and fail to justify them .IMO because they are indefensible
This part warrants an answer. In my opinion with millions of others agree that while illegal morally and other wise it is a fine past time to partake .
And in the case of Law Enforcement the prescribed cure is so much worse than the alleged problem

Oh Pitt…I already schooled you for at least 20 pages on this topic. Just copy and paste from the pot thread and you have my answers. Oh wait never mind, you didn’t understand my answers then and you won’t now.
Maybe I should start a thread: “Pittbull Is Dumb…Thoughts?”
No, the act of doing that would be dumb, something that you would do. In fact, you’ve already done something just like that with this thread.

That list could be extended to include most the population as they don’t want gay marriage or legalised marijuana either.
You can throw abortion in there as well. The latest polling data indicates that most Americans want abortion prohibited.
Oh sorry Pitt…that means that most Americans are A G A I N S T abortion.

on the subject of abortion I do understand the gravity and I am not qualified to speak as an authority. IMO life for the child is at the Mothers discretion until it can sustain it’s own life.
Like i say I am not qualified for that debate

Morality is it’s own entity and therefore it’s own authority. Whether you claim the utlimate source of morality is God or something else, doesn’t change the fact that moraility is a static object that is applied correctly or not to various situations.
Interpretations of morality may differ, but morality itself is always the same.

there are many young people that both smoke pot and are gay that will have no voice (right or wrong)

One would swear reading pitski’s posts that he is a pure troll. But…but…he’s not. He is in fact a sincere individual, just very dumb.
I felt a little twinge to play devil’s advocate when I read this. Pittbull said literally “there are people too young to vote who smoke weed and are gay”. Then he qualified this by saying “right or wrong”, meaning he wasn’t claiming to take any stance on their ability to vote one way or the other.
Not sure if ZEB misread this or not, and I’m not trying to support or refute any of Pitt’s positions either, but all he did was state a fact. Logically you can’t call someone dumb for stating a fact. If you want to call him dumb, you should have quoted a different post, or just not quoted a post at all. Doing this you are actually SUPPORTING his argument that you say things that aren’t based in reality, but only in your own perceived authority.

marijuana [is] having a devastating effect on some kid’s lives…the effects will last a life time

What if speeding violations resulted in punishments that lasted a lifetime and affected your ability to get a degree and a job? Would you say that speeding kept you out of college or the traffic laws? Does the punishment fit the crime? Do you think it’s important for the punishment to fit the crime? At what point does an overly punitive law become more responsible than the crime itself?
I’m a big advocate for individual responsibility so who knows maybe I agree with what you’re saying. I can’t help but feel like this though:
“Why shouldn’t you steal from someone?” “Because it is wrong to just take what someone else worked for”
“Why shouldn’t you drive drunk?” “Because you’ll probably crash and kill or injure yourself or others”
“Why shouldn’t you smoke pot?” “Because it’s illegal and you’ll get in huge trouble for it with the cops.”

I agree the punishment does not fit the crime , I also condone personal responsibility. I would say in your scenario that the law kept me out of college . I drive a lot if i do not set the cruise control I always find myself speeding

Speeding tickets can cost you a job, if you have a history of collecting them it can have an effect on your employment and your finances (insurance rates).
And in regard to the pot smoking, several of us pushed back with studies and articles showing the negative and detrimental affects. And yes I did read the studies and articles linked by others showing their side.
But I stand by my statement in the other thread, come up with a test to gauge impairment level and you can legalize it all you want.
As for the marijuana legalization amendment here in Colorado, it will fail again.

You have not been around long enough and put up with Pittbull’s shear stupidity to comment on whether I am correct in calling him dumb. Stick around and keep reading. I would guess that within a few months you’ll find this person’s comments incredibly stupid.
But…very highly entertaining.
Sort of like watching the retard on the bus. You’d love to help him but he just doesn’t have the capacity. So, you sit back and you just can’t help but laugh at some of his antics.

Morality is not owned and it’s not arbitrary. It’s not based on one’s personal feeling or beliefs. Moral truth is true, whether or not somebody agrees with it or not.

you have successfully stated you opinion. And I disagree with your opinion .
If what you stated was fact than morals would never change . It would still be immoral to marry outside you faith or outside your race or remarry if divorced , It would be immoral to work on Sunday or Saturday which ever you subscribe . It would immoral to eat cloven hoofed animals

See Zeb , the young man was inquiring on what in the statement "there are many young people that both smoke pot and are gay that will have no voice (right or wrong) " is so dumb ? You have failed to answer the question

It’s not an opinion. It’s a fact.
People mistaken or misunderstanding or misapplying morality is not the same as morality itself. A lot of people want to attach things to it claiming that ‘thing’ is either moral or immoral, but that’s not the same as something actually being immoral.
For instance, was slavery moral even when it was an accepted practice?
“Morality is the basis of things and truth is the substance of all morality.”
