Christian Bale as John Connor

I don’t like Batman being involved in Terminator. Two big franchise and he’s dipping into both. Bad.

Why? He’s a good actor, I’m sure he can manage.

Consider some of the alternatives. They could have asked Tobey Maguire.[/quote]

The man can fucking act, we all know that. This isn’t like Stallone where one franchise he made himself and the other he made famous(First Blood was a book before it was a movie).

But Bale is dropping into franchises that have been going for years. And he’s taken the role of John Connor. Would you want Matt Damon to play Jason Bourne AND James Bond?

Damon doesn’t really fit the description of Bond. If he did, I wouldn’t care so much as long as he did a good job of it. Bad career move though, as two “spy” type roles would further character stereotyping, whereas Bale has a fairly wide repertoire of roles under his belt. I don’t him being cast in the role is the issue, it’s more what they’ll do with the script.

Recovering from T3 will NOT be easy.

I didn’t mean it like that exactly. If Bale becomes the next Jedi Master in a Star Wars movies, then he’s triple dipping when he should be single dipping. He should focus on the big money(Batman) and do deeper roles to get his actor cred up.

Damn you should give him a call. Christian Bale definitely needs your help.

Not sure why anyone thinks an actor can only do one movie. A skilled actor should be able to play different characters, unless they are a character actor.

Anyway the new terminator has been named and it is:

Dah da daaaaah. (presentation music.)

Topher Grace.

Ok, just pulling your leg. That would be as stupid as him playing Venom in Spider-Man.

I did chuckle at that. Great actor, but he shouldn’t be doing Terminator. Pick one and stick to it.

Hells yeah, they should make him a Sith though, that would be better.

Hey look on the bright side…at least they didn’t pick Matthew “No talent” McConaughey. Man is he just absolutely terrible or what?

Could be worse you say? They could have picked Colin Farrell or James Franco…shudders!!

Bale should bring some prestige back to the series. Nick Stahl was awful.

Oh man, all of those guys are terrible. McConaughey peaked with Dazed & Confused. Franco has a perpetual pout look on his face. Colin Farrell…well, I just don’t like him.

^Exactly. I know there’s a few doubters out there, but it could be much, much worse. At least they’re not picking Shia “everybody thinks I’m just soooo great!” Ledouche or however you say his name.

haha…that’s funny because the review I just read for Indy 4 said they did what they could to make him not as annoying as he usually is.

Honestly,I dont care if Blae is set to play the elad role. Im jsut worried about the rating, director, and the Terminators themselves. I mean, did you go to the Terminator movies hoping to see Edward Furlong or Michael Biehn (Even though Biehn is pretty badass…needs to make a cameo)? Heres hoping they get some bodybuilders in there like the first movie.

Doesn’t anyone else think Bale would be great as… the Terminator instead of John Connor? After batman, we know he’s big enough, and has the acting chops to play the “emotionless killer” e.g. Equilibrium.

You know, you’ve got a good point. They need to make the next Terminators big, massed out, ruthless looking killers if they are going to match Bale’s hardass presence on screen.

And because you say that, Topher Grace and Calista Flockheart will be the new Terminators.

Yeah, but they’d be good at infiltrating because they can squeeze through tight places that normal people would have no hope of getting through.

Then again, you could sneeze and knock them over.

Could a Terminator film directed by Cameron without Arnold work?

Maybe.

Could a Terminator film with Arnold but not directed by Cameron work?

Sort of.

Without BOTH?

Oh hell no.

The dude is definitely dedicated to his craft.
