Chocolate Surge Always Foaming!

Now I was disappointed when I found out that they were discontinuing Vanilla Surge but even more upset when I missed out on the buy 3 get 3 free. Not because I like Vanilla Surge better but because it doesn’t foam up when I throw it in the blender! It’s way more convenient.

With Chocolate Surge I have to make it, pour it in my bottle, and then wait 10 minutes or so for all the foam to build up on top of the actual liquid in the blender before I pour the rest in the bottle. Is Raspberry Surge like Chocolate Surge or Vanilla…what about the original Surge? I love the taste of chocolate Surge but am kinda fed up with this inconvenience.

I just leave it in the freezer for 10 minutes and the foam dies down. Is it that big of a deal?

Maybe try chucking some Xanthum or Guar Gum in there? Don’t need much but a few of the thicker protein powders seem to have it and I put it in my shakes when I want more of a ‘meal’ than a drink. Good stuff! 1/4tsp will massively thicken up 500ml of liquid.

They’re discontinuing Vanilla Surge!!! Vanilla Surge is the reason I train in the first place!

The Original better be damn good, all I’m sayin’.

You’re not supposed to blend Surge. That could be the problem. You should use a shaker. Problem solved.

I found the chocolate foams even when I shake it. However, I now use a spoon and don’t have that problem.

Even if you shake chcolate it will foam (it says it does on the label as well). let sit for about 5 mins and then gently tip your shaker bottle upside down/right side up a few times and you’re set

It’s the cocoa. I add cocoa to some of my shakes and it always foams like Cujo.

After a couple minutes if you just turn the bottle upside down a couple times the foam goes away.

And to the person who mentioned original Surge, I think the chocolate is much easier to drink day in and day out. The original is a little too sweet (it kinda tastes like angel food cake or a sweet amaretto though)

I’d expect that to also slow the drink’s absorption, which is the opposite of what you want with Surge. I hear people give it a thumbs up in Metabolic Drive though.

Seconded. Blending Surge would be like putting eggs in a blender to scramble them. Probably gets the job done, but it’s overkill.

In the past, I’ve stirred it together with a fork and it mixes fine. Lately I’ve been shaking it together in a screw-top nalgene bottle right before I leave for the gym. Any foaming that happens is gone by the time I get there 10-minutes later.

I had no idea you weren’t supposed to blind the Surge Recovery.

However, it you mix with ice you have to use the blender.

Why would you want to blend it with ice?

Just throw a couple of ice cubes or some crushed ice in a shaker and you’re good to go.

Don’t blend.

Don’t shake.

Swirl.

Yeah, spoons work as well. I just toss mine in my Mason jar and swirl for a bit. I might give it one or two quick shakes if I’m feeling frisky.

and how the crap do we know about these special offers!? i didnt know!

Good heavens this is like a science project discussion.

I save all the jars and tops from peanut butter containers. Come Surge time, I put in water, ice cubes, and the Surge; cover, and shake vigorously. (I hate lumps.) It works just fine. No foam and very cold. I drink the Surge and my dog eats the ice cubes, haha.

I still want to know for sure if the vanilla is being discontinued for good? The store currently says out of stock and has a link for a PM you’ll receive when it comes back in stock.
