In the zoo scenario it is the person who is cornered and in a fight for his life, not the dogs. Not saying that the dogs wouldn’t attack but that they may think twice giving enough time for help to arrive. The situation you are attempting to present is a very different and involves a whole new set of variables on the dogs’ behalf. When you take flight out of the fight or flight equation you are only left with fight. Perhaps you are only responding specifically to those who argue that these dogs would not be formidable.

technically the dogs and the human would be in a fight for their lives. The dogs know they are enclosed. But yes, in a zoo scenario, workers would come to the aid of a human in an animal pen. Having an 18 month old son myself; without hesitation I would have jumped. wonder what the zoo feeds them? I assume they don’t feed them live animals? Puppy chow? If they’re not STARVING and have been in captivity and fed plenty, I doubt they attack a larger animal unless attack first. The 2 year old was small and they’re instinct wanted some honing. I image them thinking, “hey what that? It’s not dinner time”, “yeah but it’s small and moving, lets kill it for sport”. Mabey a 200lb man waving a stick and yelling might be able to hold them off until help arrived…we’ll never know…unlesss of course Csulli drives there and jumps the fuck in!

Bears?
For me, it’s all about whether I think the animal’s likely to even bother attacking at all, and I don’t think the dogs would. The wolves neither. No experience there though.
If any of them were intent on killing me, I doubt they’d struggle.
No idea what I’d do in the moment, but I like to think that if I could save someone I would.

They attacked a small, vulnerable lump of meat about the size of whatever they get at feeding time. Yes, they attack large prey in the wild, but in a place they’ve been born into and have grown up being fed by the zoo’s owners, I don’t see them attacking a large, noisy thing waving a large stick. Why not wait until next feeding time? If they’re anything like domestic dogs, they know someone will feed them with zero effort on their part.
