I did an RPS push pull meet yesterday. It was for charity ( Shriners hospital)…
I benched 265 and hit 415 on DL.
That is all
Some good numbers there OldGoat, and for a GREAT charity!
Thought you could just sneak another meet in there and no one would notice, eh? I’d say you might be hooked. Great job! And all the better that the proceeds go to a charity.

Your moniker undoubtedly belies your age. This log reads like you’re under 60.

Indeed sir, I’m a spring chicken @ 55… However, the moniker is not age related…it’s what my wife refers to me as because I’m stubborn, sometimes cranky and unpredictable!
I figured you were in your 50s. You’ve got many good lifting years left.
I suggest you tell your wife you’d be far worse if you didn’t lift.
Good work at that meet!

A couple of questions for all you smart lifters in the O35
I do all my BP work paused…should I be doing any touch and go to get used to handling heavier weight or should I just keep after it?
My paused bench scheme was going to be 5x3 in week 1, 4x4 in week 2, 3x6 in week3 all with the same weight. Or would I be better off doing 5x3 and adding weight week to week?
I have about 8 weeks to run whatever scheme and then I start meet prep for a showdown on the 23rd of April…where if I break 1K I’m retiring and if I don’t I’m quitting!!

I’m not qualified, but I’ll throw in my 2cents
The only reason I like touch and go is I think it helps with the sticking point. It’s a momentum movement that seems to help on the last few reps where you probably wouldn’t get it off the chest paused. So it works the sticking point to lockout. A mix of paused on some weeks and touch/go others might be food for thought.
Both plans are good, but I like the former.
It hurts more to be a couch potato than a lifter.
Thanks OP, and yes you are qualified and you should know there is plenty of room in O35 for another good dude and lifter. (hint)
Incline Pause BP 2x2x225,2x7x185
deadhang chins with pause at midpoint up and down 5,5,5

Squats 8x205, 6x225, 4x245, 2x275, 2x1x305
Pause squats 2x3x225 wanted to do 5’s but I will spent ( I think from DL on Sat )
Snatch grip RDL 10x135, 10x175, 2x8x185
Seated Calf 12x70, 2x10x90
Peace

No and no.
And no downside to a mix of paused and touch and go bench training.
Nice looking workouts OG, you’ll do well in April not to worry.
