Are you formulating a weight progression for the meet? Or are you going to pick openers and play it by ear?

Skip, I have my lifts in mind in terms of what my likely progression will be. I’m not looking for PR’s or anything; just want to get the first meet in and see if I like it. So depending on how I feel that day and how the bar is moving its all adjustable…I’ll start very conservative on the squat

Even after a bunch of meets, I still open my squat very light when raw. Nothing like white lights on that first lift and getting it outta the way.

Of course, you’re gonna LOVE competitive PLing! How can you even doubt that?

If you choose your attempts conservatively and go 9 for 9 at your first meet that would be excellent and set you up for continued success in the future. Maybe go only 90% for a first attempt, then close but under your best for the 2nd, and perhaps re-do your best for the 3rd attempt or if you’re feeling strong go just slightly over your best. My 2 cents is really only worth 1 1/2 cents in Bangladesh.

KP- Thanks for the advice, much appreciated! I know I’ll love the competitive aspect. Where I will struggle is mentally staying focused for maybe 6 hours of the meet…I’m really not good at sitting and waiting

Sage like advice GV, thank you…and its along the lines of my thoughts as well as KP’s. I still say I’d do much better if you did my squats, Basler benched for me, and Steve did my DL…no one could beat me!

Tmill foam, stretchy, dislocates

DL 2x345, 3x3x370,
snatch grip 2x5x245, 3x265,1x285,1x295
pendlay row 5x135, 7x135

3 weeks out- no grinders the 370 was slower than I had hoped but no issues

peace,

Three weeks… Seems like it is taking forever.
Keep after it. Looking strong and consistent. Can’t wait for this one to get here and for you to have one under your belt.

Is Mrs. Goat gonna go and root you on?

Getting close OG. Just enjoy the first one and get some numbers posted to give you a target for future meets.

she will not…She owns a seafood company and this time of year is very busy ( 12-14 hour days 6 or 7 days a week)…
