yay/nay?
I vote yay.
It’s not STP without Scott Weiland.

This revamped STP sucks. Bennington needs to stick with making mediocre music in his own band.
nay. just nay
Sacrilege. So that is certainly a nay and I did not even watch the video.
I mustered up the courage to watch that video and it is atrocious. Bennington is not even close to the caliber of singer/front man that Wieland was.
nope
so not cool, just start a new band and new name. Only two bands I can think of that swapped or had to unfortunately replace lead singers successfully and without controversy(Sorry Van Halen) were Journy and AC/DC

To piggy back on what A-Rod wrote, how does Bennington even get the audition? There’s nothing about his voice that says “frontman” to me, let alone for a band as big as STP. This all seems like a stunt to garner publicity for an aging STP by using a name that’s currently popular. Shit sucks.

I’ll add Lynyrd Skynyrd to that list.

Just had a similar discussion recently, but Jerry Cantrell, IMO, has managed to assemble a version of Alice In Chains that continues the sound and doesn’t mangle the lyrical genius of Layne Staley.
Layne can never be replaced, but I think the current incarnation of Alice in Chains is a great succession to the original lineup. Part of that IMO, is because Cantrell was always in the lyrical mix as well as writing the music, so it’s not much of a leap. He sang in some form on most of the songs anyway.
Having said that, STP is not STP without Weiland. Period.

Iron Maiden, no?
