My fiance works at Sub Zero ice cream, and sometimes I get one made with almond milk, splenda, dark chocolate chunks and a tiny bit of cake batter flavoring.
Delicious.

Not to contribute to the hijack, but…I was told that I had a gluten allergy/intolerance/whatever long before it was cool to avoid gluten (~12 yrs ago). I don’t follow a special diet (aside from IFing and hitting my daily macros) and feel fine. I eat the same pizza and burgers that stronghold eats AND I’ve been known to put down a full pint of Ben and Jerry’s fro-yo afterwards. My (fl)abs look better than ever and my lifts keep going up.
I’m not really sure where this idea that grains will ruin your life came from. Maybe eating them is keeping me from having superhuman powers or something…

Arctic Zero “ice cream” is pretty good if your diet won’t allow you to have the real thing. 150 calories A PINT and fat free.
Buckeye, I can say the same thing, except no one ever told me I had an allergy or intolerance for grains. To be honest, I was pretty sure I digested them with no problems at all. What I found out is that when I got rid of grains, my skin cleared up and I hold 3 lbs less water on a daily basis. Best of all, killed any and all PMSing, which wasn’t all that bad but I can live without. Overall I just feel better, digestion is way better, and I can’t attribute that to anything else since cutting gluten is the only dietary change I’ve made in forever. Strength-wise I can’t say, I am just now back at 100% from an injury early December, so far so good though.
I don’t think there is a right or wrong when it comes to any food plan, if it works for you, then keep doing it until it doesn’t work anymore.
I’ll look for the Arctic Zero, but we probably don’t have it here ) :
I’ve actually suggested to BG that she try eliminating gluten from her diet since she has an actual, documented intolerance.
What I have a problem with is the people who assume that because THEY can’t eat gluten, it’s definitely bad for the other 99% of the population. I tolerate it just fine and have never tested positive for gluten allergy, but according to some, I’m flirting with colon cancer and Alzheimers.
i know people of who have tested negative and had the allergy, but you dont get any related symptoms of the allergy or do you chalk it up to something else. Just asking, thanks for info

x3. I eat hot sauce on everything, except oatmeal.
Actually…might give that shot later…
Actually I have tried that! My favorite things to put it are sweet potatoes and white potatoes, well and chicken of course.

How was it? I had a 100 calorie pack of cookies for desert tonight instead of oatmeal+berries.

BG might try it out after she’s done getting ready for a meet and is willing and able to restrict her calories. But you’ll be the one making her almond flour cream puffs, coconut oil margaritas, and avocado brownies. Or whatever that ridiculous crap is.
hahaha, those brownies are GOOD BG!! But yeah, make him cook for you.
SH, I agree with the activist stance, it’s annoying. I eat basically paleo, but I don’t like to call it that, because there seems to be a bit of a superiority complex among some of the diet’s followers. If I am going to become a food activist, it’s going to be for Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. Getting real food into school lunches is far more important (to me anyways) then debating grains.
No Arctic Ice-Cream here. I found some ice cream sammies called Skinny Cow. 8 bucks for 6, and from the size of the box, they must be tiny. This is an instance where I’ll get the real thing if I need it that bad.

I actually like the Skinny Cow stuff. Choc/PB sandwiches are good enough that I like them, period. Not just as a diet food. Stuff is pricey around here, but not that bad. Around $5 for 6.

Aren’t both of them fat-soluble?

My Vit D. comes in an oil gelcap. Took the curcumin because my back was hurting.
I’m sure Stronghold will be back with a more thorough response, but dude WTF?
How did you go from what was stated (being able “fit in” cheat foods inside daily macro targets) to some wild-and-crazy world where individuals ignore all else in the pursuit eating ONLY burgers and pizza while thumbing their nose at colon cancer and celiac disease, and all under the flag of “IF”??
Actually, I practice moderation in no sense of the word and live off of pork rinds and hot dogs.
Definitely setting myself up for a life of disease and living off of fast foods here, huh?
Again, I feel as though the purpose of my post was misconceived. I’m not writing to incite anger among long-standing forum members or to hi-jack this post (although it seems as though I have done both).
I noticed that SH had mentioned he was practicing a LeanGains lifestyle and that he had also mentioned he frequently eats things LIKE cheeseburgers and pizza (which are delicious by the way) and was interested in hearing some experiences/opinions/etc.
To answer your earlier question SH, no I don’t think there is anything unhealthy with the vegetables or red meat in a hamburger. If you’re the one controlling the ingredients that goes into these “cheat” foods like pizza and burgers then I don’t think they have to be considered “cheat” foods at all.
I do not by any means think that gluten (OMG) is the Anti-Christ of nutrients and I understand that some people fully tolerate it. But as dianab pointed out, not everyone knows they are sensitive to certain foods until they actually try NOT eating those foods. Then when they re-introduce them they feel like crap. And it just so happens that gluten is known to be a pretty common inflammatory food.
But I agree with SH in the sense that it should not be demonized and perhaps I came across a little differently with my earlier post…
Now ON TOPIC! :
YUM!
6oz Greek yogurt…2 tablespoons peanut butter (better option is a pb like naturally more pb)…cinnamon. Mix it up and microwave for like 20 seconds.

Whole Foods carries it. There’s a store locator on the site where you can search for it by zip code.

I honestly cannot ever read a thing you write because of your avatar…
Sugar free, fat free jello pudding is extremely awesome. But, if made with 2 cups of 2 % milk it contains 72 carbs in a bowl. 400 cals…
ZOMG!!!
Heavy whipping cream + chocolate Metabolic Drive = cake batter awesomeness without all the sugar
Hey, on the Arctic Zero ice cream, I actually know one of the owners/founders. He’s a super good guy, great family. Delicious product too.
