Cheap Creatine

Thoughts on Walmart Creatine? “6 star” brand….

Many thanks as always.

Creatine monohydrate is pretty much creatine monohydrate. I don’t know the brand, but assuming that’s what’s on the label, I’d think you’re good.

I’d only be wary of all the “designer” creatines.

Perfect, thank you! If Creatine is, Creatine. I hate paying for a cool looking label. This is $15 for 60, 5mg scoops.

5 mg. Isn’t enough to do anything.

You need about 5 grams/serving to make a difference.

This:

Contains-

5 grams.

That is an effective dose.

My research (doom scrolling TikTok) reveals that 5G is a minimum, and fully mature adult males (200lbs or more) need closer to 10 grams.

Could be. Any more than 5g used to give me the squirts, so maybe I had a problem with absorption.

From what I remember reading, you reach a saturation point pretty quickly either way.

It’s also supplemental creatine we’re talking; depending on diet (red meat), maybe you’re also getting half your needs in food?

I take my cue from this Stuff We Like post.

Sorry bout that. 5g not, 5mg :man_facepalming:

x2, was just about to post the same thing.

I see supplementation as a top-off, sort of insurance.

Its all good man. I’ve seen some real crap products that had extremely low, ineffective ingredient content before, which is why I checked.

You’re on the right track. :+1:

That may have been it. I’ve never been shy about having steak with a side of steak.

Back in the 2000s, there was a lot of talk about cheap, tainted creatine from China and to only buy creatine monohydrate with the Creapure label on it to ensure that it was tested for purity. I still tend to do this out of longstanding habit, although I just impulse bought a case of Optimum Nutrition creatine from Costco because it was right in front of me for a good price.

6 star doesn’t really have the best reputation for actually selling what’s on the label, if I were you I’d grab some optimum nutrition or momentous creatine
