Kids don’t have the beginning spark of what true anarchy comprises. Flag waving is order. Wearing a uniform (t-shirts with crap written on them) is order.
What I envision is lawless peace. No law, as there is no need for law. I know it’s a pipe dream. If it can be envisioned, it can be possible. Improbable, but possible.
This state exists when I meditate.
And as for Mad Max with the Hell’s Angels… this is Chaos, not Anarchy. Quite a different animal.

I think it’s called an insect colony. Or a server farm.
You’ll never have that with thinking beings.

How can you get your lawless peace when wants and needs are universal, but resources are not? What will convince all the “haves” to peacefully and willingly share with the “have nots”?
Does anyone here understand communism? A socialist government was only supposed to put things into order, and hold them in place while the natural order of communism fell into place. Then the governments would dissolve leaving the communist utopia in place.
This was the theory, and was total hogwash.
The closest thing to this dream is created by the capitalists. And it keeps getting derailed by socialist ideas. Add up where the governments debt comes from, and you find a whole host of social programs, which have bankrupted the government. Who here knows that our government actually spends more then Canada on health care, and we don’t even have universal health care here. How the hell can we cover it when we do? You know everything the government does, it can do for only 10 times what business or person could do it for.
Yes, lets let the DMV run our health care.
Is anyone listening? I have explained before exactly why capitalism works. It is called survival of the fittest. Is your company better then the one next door? Are you solving a problem? Then your company will be successful. If not, your business will go under.
The people who complain about being poor will refuse to start a business, because it is too risky. But then hate the person who took that risk, and created a job for them.
There are a lot of smart people starting and running good businesses. Socialism takes them all out of the equation, and puts Skippy in charge. Can anyone see why this idea is such a failure? If your wealth is going to be taken away, why work? If you are paid regardless, why work?
China actually decided to have a system in place where they paid everybody the exact same, regardless of what they did, or even if they worked at all. A third of the population immediately quit working. Why do people keep wanting to repeat this? Does anyone learn anything from history? Oh yeah, it taught by the government.

People will keep doing this shit until they figure out that reality can’t be cheated forever. A stone is a stone, a bird is a bird, and a man is a man. Each have a particular nature. Setting up systems that contradict human nature means that the system has to use force to ensure its survival. That system then eventually dissolves or is overthrown.
Capitalism is the closest we have to the ideal match. A mixed economy is an attempt to ignore that fact, to ‘get away with’ cheating reality.

Aaaaah. I love the smell of fresh ideologies in the morning.
It’s not a popular stance, but something good is going to take the best features of each and find a way to work them together somehow.
It certainly won’t be a “pure” ideology which so many people pine for. So far, all pure ideologies suck huge donkey ass.[/quote]
Ah, yes. Here is another thing most people do not think of.
Capitalism and socialism are best thought of as a range rather then an either or. I do not believe in capitalism without any regulations, and absolute socialism is a disaster. The question becomes at what point is balance achieved between these two ideologies?
I believe America should be further toward capitalism then it is right now, and less socialistic then it is. Examples of this are when taxes are reduced and revenue goes up. The “voodoo economics” people complain about. The only reason it works is because taxes have reached the point on the continuum that it begins interfering with the economy.
Taxes should be slowly reduced until the effect is minimized, and that would be the true optimal point for taxes. A point that maximizes revenue, and minimizes the negative effect on the economy.
Getting back to the original point of the thread for a sec. I heard Chavez nationalized a Hilton Hotel. How long before it is converted from a five star into a roach motel?
