Charles Darwin Film 'Too Controversial for Religious America'

Do I believe that homo-sapiens and animals adapt to their surroundings? Yes! I also believe that we will tweak our own genetics after years of adaptation. But in no way do I believe in Darwinism. Darwinism is almost like a cult religion.

Sure, it’s THEORY with some possible proof, but so is the existence of bigfoot, and other mythical creatures that cannot be proven. We don’t have the transitional fossils to back it up. There would be in-between species out there right now that are currently evolving. I find the claim that some little creature crawled up on land and spawned everything from hippos to tigers to ants hilarious…
Uhhhhhh a FIGHT!!! Lets get in it!!! (thats from Asterix for those who dot know)

Umm… but mankind just appearing from a womans rib after being inticed by a talking snake sounds more logical???

All of the guys videos have to do with CvE. Even ones where he personally answers questions about his videos.

So, while I have never seen a 9/11-truth video, I would guess you are wrong. Try again. This time, focus on the information presented.

To my knowledge he did do Zeitgeist, which is one of those conspiracy-nut videos. The “information” was presented in the exact kind of way as in conspiracy theories.

I especially loved how only the most ignarant fools get pulled aside on NYC streets and state fairs to comment on it. The video is a piss-poor, clearly biased piece of propaganda. Unfortunately, some creationists tend to produce bullshit propaganda of the same kind which gives all independent thinkers in that department a bad rap.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Man you really were dropped on your head when you were a baby. Most of the information in Zeitgeist is fact based on historic accounts. You religious people should be happy about this film as it also explains to you where your religions came from and how with a simple miss understanding, miss translation, everything has turned into a story that everyone believes as truth.

Not believing in evolution is like not believing 2 + 2= 4

T-Nation creationism crowd should be here in a moment from the PWI forum to back me up.

come on guys
Is stomping on someone’s face a Christian thing to do? When I was a kid I practiced Christianity and I never took part in face stomping. Instead, it was more of a “love thy neighbor” and “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” philosoophy. Did I miss something?

I disagree. I think it is safe to say that a historical Jesus existed, he just never walked on water or performed miracles.

The bible was written 300 years after the supposed birth of Christ.

The separate books of the New Testament (including the probable forgeries) are estimated to have been written 70-200 years after Jesus’s death. They were compiled as the New Testament in 325 AD at the First Council of Nicaea which is what I believe you are referring to.

You forget that there were not many names in those days and that one of the most common names for men in that region was… wait for it… Jesus!!! and one of the most common names for females??? Marie!!! Yay!!! so there probably was a Jesus, and a Marie, just not the ones they talk about in the bible.

Seems there is only us Darwinists left… lol

First, let me say that I’m 100% in favor of science and evolution and think the religious crazies are out of control and are a threat to the future of science in America. Notice I use the word “crazies.” I fully realize that there are rational people who can reconcile their religious beliefs with science.

To these folks, I say well done. Which is why I too have wondered why some religious people are so hostile to science and evolution in particular. Then one day I was standing outside the theater in our nature and science museum after we had just finished watching an Imax movie on black holes and the universe.

Really cool stuff. I overheard a lady say to her friend, “That was interesting, but I prefer creationism. It’s simpler.” And there it was.

Very true. Those kinds of people really piss me off. But it is also possible that some religious people get hostile because they are exposed to the equivalent example to your creationist lady in scientists----aka arrogant sons of bitches who look down on them simply for being religious.

I wouldn’t take it too well if some random asshole started calling me a neanderthal out of a superiority complex. I submit one Richard Dawkins for evidence. He’s an asshole. A good scientist, but a grade A US PRIME twat.

And he pisses ME off with his attitude. I can’t imagine what the majority of thinking religious people must feel. There are literally thousands more like him, they just don’t have the public visability he does.
It’s a vicious cycle, we’re exposed to idiots who try to pick apart a theory they have never studied and don’t understand, whilst accepting that a magical sky being made everything exactly the way it is and ignoring the vastness of the questions that raises.

After hearing enough rubbish spouted about evolution you start to lump people together. I have no problem with people being religious, I do have a problem with stupidity, especially stupidity being shoved in my face as fact.

I’ve managed to avoid reading any of Dawkins non-scientific texts, but his books on evolution are brilliant, I don’t think he should be written off just because he made an ill-advised jump into philosophy.

Was anyone there, 5 billion years ago to observe what took place?

Not an argument…please think about it.

For example, “Did the Roman’s exist? 'Cos I’ve sure never met one.”
Response, “We know they existed because their artefacts, buildings, writings, language etc all constitute evidence.”

exactly, you can look at artifacts to piece together the past. carbon dating and such can prove the existance of rocks billions of years ago, from ice cores and rocks they can discover the atmosphere conditions and so forth. evidence that the world was not created in 7 days. right seeing as thats sorted, im off to grab a protein shake and my new scientist magazine

LoL @ People who think theory of evolution requires “faith”

My point reminds the same.
Evolution and Creation are both views that are based solely on faith.
I happen to believe in the one that gives me hope after death.

I don’t look down on anyone else for their views, but evolution is not science. It is not fact. It is a bunch of theories conjured up by people with disdain for God.

We don’t need evidence “against” religion. Religion needs evidence to prove its claims.

Oh yeah, as for the “virgin Mary”, she was either raped or fooling around before marriage.

Uh, I consider myself one of the “Religious Crazies” (they’ll cheer me here, but call me crazy elsewhere. I choose to beat them to it.), who happens to accept evolutionary theory.

You have a good strategy: say things so ridiculous nobody knows where to start with you.
