Has anybody else seen this?
Dave Chappelle was right, we’re not that far off from the World Series of Dice.

I actually did watch about 2 minutes of it…Are all the guys who play black…or did I just turn it on while everyone just happened to be black? (No offense, just curious if and why it’s a predominately black sport).
I saw it.I was like “Domino Motherfucker!” Kidding. All the guys I saw were hispanic. The commentataters gave a play by play like " he needs to play the double four, he needs to play the double four!" I was like you’ve got to be fucking kidding me.I already hate watching poker, let alone fucking dominoes.
And when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, it does…
…while once again watching a quick ESPN during my mid-day snack, an advertisement for the upcoming “World Series of Darts.”
I only wish I was shittin you.
They were talking about this on the Bob and Tom Show this morning.
What in the hell is going on?
Next Month: Celebrity Slot Machine Challenge.
Dominoes is a big thing in the caribbean. Living here i spend almost every night playing it with friends and limeing (chilling, “hanging out”).
Dominoes goes very well with Rum and can get very intense when you know what you’re doing.

darts have been coming on espn for years now. but if no one complains with the spelling bee on espn, why should it matter if dominoes, darts, dice, chess is on. i’ve actually seen magic the gathering tournys
Thats fine, just make sure its on at 3 am or something so it doesnt take up prime time. Tivo it or something.
OK just caught another glimpse of round 2…this time it was two white guys vs. two black guys, so I guess yesterday was a fluke.
What a borring game to watch though huh? No offense to anyone who plays…it’s probably just my ignorance that makes it borring.
How in the fuck did a parlor game get promoted to a sport?
I don’t care how intense it can get. I like dominoes - especially a good game of 42, but to call it a sport?
We used to go to the bar every night to play dominoes in college. But I’ve said it many times, anything that a fat man can do drunk is not a sport.
I saw the National Scrabble Championship on ESPN once. It was intense and suspenseful.
The spelling bee is the best. Now I’ll be the first to admit that those rugrats can out spele me in a heartbeat, but my friends and I used to make fun of them and mock them in high school. We’d get like 10 guys together during the spelling bee and it would just be a gongshow.

Haha, I’ll give the spelling bee a hall pass considering it was last year I believe that one of the kids passed out on stage. That was a real classic; the kids eyes just rolled back and kerplunk…
How has dodgeball not made it on ESPN yet?
Just put it like this, if you were flicking the channels and happened to see dodgeball on and it was down to two guys going 1 on 1, would you dare change the channel before seeing who won? Didn’t think so.
I can’t wait for ESPN Full Contact Chess.
why are people getting so personally offended/protective over the use of the word “sport”? this word has been used for centuries to describe things that fat drunk people can do. when did the meaning of “sport” suddenly become so narrow and exclusively athletic ?
It’s a reflection of America’s general attitudes towards sports and fitness. As our country gets lazier and more obese, we’ve began to include events such as poker and darts as “sports.” Perhaps the appeal is that the common man can play these sports and excel without being in anywhere remotely near good shape. Just look at bowling.
What next, we’re gonna call these guys athletes?
Calling a game a sport is not big deal nowadays.
Now if you call them an athlete, it is instant legitimacy. No worries, God would never let this happen.

They’ll play it on “The Ocho”
