I went to the doc today with a problem in my left thigh. It was swelled about twice the size of my right thigh right above the knee.
It was red, swollen, painful as hell, and had a really high fever.
I had no idea what was going on, and was pretty much scared shitless.
Doc said it was cellulitis, and proceeded to grill me over what I was injecting. I told him it was IGF, which is true - I just neglected to tell him about other compounds.
He told me I injected using unsterilized practices. I told him that I always use clean needles and swab the area religiously with alcohol.
He said that because of the length of time I have been injecting (2.5 years) infections are unavoidable.
Anyhow - just to let you guys know - shit happens to everyone. Even those that are anal as hell about sterility. It’s just a matter of time.

I got a shot in his office and he gave me a script for some oral antibiotics.
It would not be a bad idea to have an antibiotic on hand, but I would not try and self-diagnose. Leave diagnosis for the professionals.
I was scared to death to tell him about what I was doing, but there is such a thing as doctor-patient privilege. Amazingly, he was not judgmental in what I was doing other than to tell me that there was no need for me to get any bigger. Evidently, 5’10" and 230lbs. is big enough for him. I politely took exception to that.
The funny thing was that he asked me why I wanted to get so big. I told him that in our small town (population 600) there is only 4 things to do: drink, smoke, sit on the couch, or lift weights. I chose the latter as my vise of choice. He could only nod in agreement.

Hard to argue with thatlogic. Has the swelling reduced at this point?
Look at the bright side…Your muscle sheaths will be stretched out from the swelling, so you will eventually have bigger, more muscular quads in time…Seriously though, heal up quick, extra vitamin C and all that…
So, where does that leave you with your protocol? Do you have plans to change your methods of injection - what you do doesn’t sound any different from what the rest of us do…

There is nothing to change. The nurse who gave me the shot did the exact same thing I do: swabbed, poked, injected, removed, and swabbed. The only difference being that she did not aspirate.

Well, that’s comforting.
Although not to the degree you had it, I had a similar experience mid cycle, about two months ago. Leg swelled, fever rash all over my torso, couldn’t bend or put any weight on affected leg. Mine cleared in about three or so days, but again, not quite the same as your experience.
There is nothing to change. The nurse who gave me the shot did the exact same thing I do: swabbed, poked, injected, removed, and swabbed. The only difference being that she did not aspirate.

Sounds just like my experience with the one quad during my tpp/mast cycle with the lot of us on bushys thread. Mine didn't get as bad as Rains, but it was enough to have me shitting a brick for a several days. Took about a week and a half to two weeks to fully clear with mine.

Yes. I injected on Friday, which became progressively worse over the weekend. By Sunday I couldn’t walk up and down stairs. Monday-Tues was the fever rash. I made an appointment for Wed. By then, though, pain began to subside and mobility began to return. I wasn’t forthright about what I was doing. I got the old military fix-all, 800mg motrin two times a day! Whoop-de-do!!
I think if the pain hadn’t subsided, I would’ve been honest…maybe.
People forget that the skin is the largest organ and our barrier to infection. Even athletes can get a nasty cellulitis that enters through sweat pores. I am guessing the shot was Rocephin. If it does not get better in a day get your ass to a larger hospital and get IV antibiotics and see an infectious disease doctor. Better safe than an amputee.
I am healthy but had two huge abscesses in my life that had to be drained a little below my armpit in mater of months. They were from airborne bacteria seeing very sick patients in hospital that probably entered through hair follicle. The ER doc did not do shit and said it was only a skin infection, but I knew there was pus. I drained one myself and the second larger one I had a friend drain and had to pack it.
I spent most of the day yesterday following my wife around carrying the Christmas shopping - and my leg hurt like a son of a bitch.
We got home around 4:30 and I laid on the couch with my leg up. By 9:00, the swelling was about gone, and this morning there is very little pain, or swelling.
I have 2 weeks worth of antibiotics to take, but I think everything is going to be okay.
