Don’t feel bad deadlift can take a while to recover from even if muscles don’t still feel sore you might still not be at 100%, especially if you are also squatting heavy on a different day later in the week.
I had some luck alternating between heavy and light weeks for deadlift for this reason…
With all the years I’ve been training, 245 should not be a hard deadlift. 155 should not be a hard squaat.

Got busy last week, didn’t go to gym for a week. Something funny happened. A few days after gym, suddenly started sleeping better. Slept like a log for a few days, no sleeping pills or anything. Then yesterday I do back for a short workout. Bam, last night I tossed and turned for hours. This has happened all my life. Lifting weights just wear me out. Everytime I work out, I can’t sleep for several days. It’s too stressful. Even if I take it easy and don’t work hard like I usually do.
Anyway, yesterday. Deadlift 135 x 7
185 x 6
185 x 6
195 x 5

Well. I’ve been thinking. Here I am in my old age. Most of life is behind me, not in front. What happened? Well, with weightlifting I got nowhere. I see a wasted life. I never got strong. I started training at 18 and been at it since. It didn’t work. Any gains were so tiny I couldn’t see them. I never got what I wanted and I never will. That’s my life.Endless endless work and my body didn’t do it. So that’s it.
It helps to think, “where would I be now if I had never done it at all?” for me at least. I’m never going to reach the heights I might have had I trained better earlier.
Had you never trained what would have been the likely outcome of your well-being?
I can’t believe it was an actual waste.
Health, longevity first @cavalier as per @DaCharmingAlbino noted surely all this consistent good work has held you in good stead and has you in a much better place now than if you never lifted a barbell.
