Haven’t taken my Vibrams off in a month

Shit… I came down with plantar fascitis about a month ago and got it bad. I’ve basically spent my summer in Sperrys or flip-flops. This includes walking on hard sutraces, up and down boat ladders, etc. The pain overshadows my back pain by far and no pain medication will touch it. I’ve had 3 steriod injections in my heel and now have a support pad glued to the bottom of my arch.

So, as you get a tad older, think of more support. I’m generally wearing high-top Michael Jordans when I’m not at work. At work they buy our shoes, I have Hush Puppy penny loafers with steel toes which are actually comfy.

I would highly recommend Olukai. Their website is olukai.com. Great casual sandals, shoes, and boots. Great quality and they really stand behind their products. The guys running this company are super cool.

And I have to say that the recommendation for John Varvatos is a good one. I have several pairs of JV boots, and they are awesome. Very comfortable. I’ve owned them for years and I swear every time I wear them someone stops me to say, “Great boots!” Crazy.

I like Onitsuka Tigers, made by Asic. Theyre basically tennis shoes, but very flat soled and just dressy enough to pair with nice jeans and a polo/button down if the need arises.

I like the old school running shoes. I used to have pair of nike cortez… very light (little narrow, though), but I caught too much flack for wearing dopemans… I don’t know if anyone would make that association now.
