Casein vs. Whey Protein Question

lifters trying to add muscle need to eat every 2-3 hours(ish) since whey protein degests in 2-4 hours. from what Ive gathered a normal nutritional routine vairies from solid meal, liquid meal, solid meal, liquid meal, ect. So my question is would it be beneficial to take a casein protein once/twice a day since it digests in 7-8 hours and still have 2 or 3 meals instead of a whey protein 3/4 times a day with 2 to 4 meals?

thanks for any help!

Eat real food. Please.
Casein is decent before bed in an attempt to delay the catabolic effects from sleep. Cottage cheese would be better.

Whey is fast acting which is beneficial PWO.

What’s the big deal if someone wants to use a protein supp before bed?

Get over it. Please.

Supplements are convenient. Besides I want something a little easier to digest before bed than most food protein sources and many of us don’t tolerate cottage cheese very well.

plutusplutus you missed the point entirely read the original message again. My question was would there be any benefit in drinking a casein shake like once or twice throughout the day instead of having to drink a whey shake 3 to 4 times. Im a big fan of eating food so stick to the question if you could. please. and dont assume Im not eating thanks buddy.

Yea casein would be better for just a regular old protein shake during the day. But if its for a pre-workout or post-workout shake, go with whey.

Pre/post workout - Whey…any other time/pre-bed - casein or a blend of the two (Metabolic Drive).

Casein is expensive so just take it before you go to bed. It’s a lot better than waking up half way through the night to eat something but it accomplishes the same thing.
