That paint job is criminal. It has nothing to do with the Seahawks, it’s a Ferrari. Leave it be.
Money does not buy taste.

lol, I thought that might get you out from whatever rock you’ve been hiding under.

Anyone driven a Lotus Elise S? I love those cars. A hell of a lot of money for a Toyota 1.8 litre four cylinder without an airconditioner or anything but nothing matches the Elise for lightness and handling. The new Elise is 856kg (1887lbs) - totally stripped down. Nothing but a single six speed manual gear box, seat, steering wheel and engine. It’s probably the most perfectly balanced car I’ve ever driven. But they’re way over priced. They should be able to put a car like this on the market for half what they sell for. Really, these are way better balanced and better handling than the 911. Much more fun to drive too even though they’re not as quick in a straight line. I’d love to have one of these to play with on weekends. Couldn’t justify it as a daily driver though really.

I’m going to cheat a bit and post the Laraki Epitome. The car is made in Morocco and is “fitted with the engine of a C7 Corvette V8, Laraki added twin turbochargers to the already powerful engine, fueled by 91-octane gasoline. The Epitome can produce 1,200 HP, and a second fuel tank filled with 110-octane fuel up it to 1,750 HP. The body is made of carbon fiber.”
This car is bound to be a trivia question one day: “I’ll take African supercars for $1,000, Alex”
I just saw this on facebook today and after a quick google, it’s got a top speed of 217mph? Of course, it’s not the most aerodynamic looking thing we’ve ever seen, but it’s hardly a jeep wrangler. How’s a car that has 1050 more horsepower than an aventador have the same top speed as one?

Picked this up just last week. Went to a dealership to look at an 05 S2000 only to find out a guy had put a deposit on it a few hours before I arrived. No problem, as they had this as well.
It’s got a few bumps and scratches, but the interior’s in good shape and mechanically, it’s fantastic. 112k miles which is below average and got it for a great price.
I can’t get over how well it handles.
The Lotus Elise SC really is a great car to drive. They’re extremely low; low centre of gravity; incredibly light and stripped down(856kg / 1887 lbs), no power steering(really good rack and pinion), a nice racing 6 speed manual with a high revving, supercharged Toyota 1.8 liter four cylinder mid-placed engine(for perfect weight distribution) putting out about 220hp stock to the rear axle. A car that light and aerodynamic and with such a low centre of gravity just grips and handles so well. I’d definitely consider one of these as a weekend fun car(not an everyday driver). It’s a real “track” car that you can drive on the road and beats cars much more powerful than it in the twisties because of its handling. Can you imagine beating the big 5 liter sports cars and M5s and AMGs and even 911s with a 1.8 liter four cylinder Toyota? It’s a great car to drive too. But too hard to get in and out and too stripped down and highly strung for an everyday driver too. And no repairs if you have a crash because it’s not worth the cost of replacing the whole fibreglass and aluminium body. So any prang is write off unless you can live with the damage un-repaired.

If I had to guess, I’d say “gearing”. That being said, this is the third concept car produced by Laraki and they’ve never produced one production car, so the whole thing may just be an exercise in futility.
Also, the power needed to push an object through air quadruples as the speed doubles.

You’re going to love it. My best friend owned a 2001 and it’s one of the best cars I’ve ever driven. Does it have the manual or sequential transmission?

Ahh, good call on the gearing. Still seems odd to me though that a car with more HP than an Aventador and a Veyron combined has the same top speed as the slower of those two, lol.
Yeah, I know that, but like I said above, just seems weird. Oh well. I think it was on Top Gear when James May was testing the Veyrons top speed that he said that it takes only 270 HP to get it to 155 mph, but then the rest of it to get it up to 253.

I am already in love with it. Like I said above, I can’t get over how well it handles. I’ve already taken it on a few windy mountain roads and it’s incredible; the steering is amazing.
At first I just thought it was relative (given the car I got rid of was an 03 mitsubishi eclipse that was literally falling apart), but the more I drive it, the more I realize it’s just amazing.
It’s a manual. Didn’t feel like dealing with SMG issues. Plus, manual is more fun.

Building a car that doesn’t disintegrate at those air speeds has some issues as well.
Nice new wheels.

Ha! Also a valid point. Thanks guys! I want to take it to a track soon. Sonoma raceway or Thunderhill, more likely.
660 horsepower!
Pimpin. Surprised to see the specs on the 488 as being a 3.9 liter engine. I was under the impression that the naming convention at Ferrari usually has to do with displacement / engine cylenders. I.E. the 458 is powered by a 4.5 liter v8.
This is the first time they broke away from that naming convention for their mid-engine V8s because the 488 has twin-turbos. The rest were normally aspirated but for the 208 and 308 turbos.
From the beginning:
Dino 246 (2.4L V6)
Dino 308 (3L V8)
Ferrari 308
Ferrari 208
Ferrari 208 turbo
348
355
360 (first of the mid 8’s I really liked)
F430
458
---------------Everything above this line uses the usual naming convention.
488 GTB twin turbo 3.9L V8
Speaking of 3.x liter twin turbo sex machines, the McLaren 12C is pretty slick. Awesome car. Sub 3 second 0-60, 10.27 second quarter mile. But… It’s not an F1. #McLaren problems.

Ya, that’s a rough way to have to travel. You get her wound out on the interstate or take the scenic route?

A little of both. I-90 over the pass then follow the Columbia River most of the way there and back.
