Awesome. I love the Z4.
I was looking for over a year when I found this one.
2011 with 10K miles bought it in Sept of last year. For 41K

It is a blast to drive.
That’s good mileage. The good news about cars like that is people don’t drive them much for some reason. Good news for us on the other side. I really wish BMW made an M version of that car. I know they came close, but I would have like to have seen that 414 HP V8 from the M3 in the Roadster. That would be epic.

I was/ am still into the previous gen M Roadster. It was really what I wanted because I used to drive my friend’s who had an '06 and I loved the dynamics of that car. I loved the utter lack of tech, it only had an ‘M’ button you didn’t have to program. I loved the fact that they got a long stroke I6 to rev to 8K, with a six stack on throttle bodies on it.
Hell, if I get an influx of cash, I would still get it. In the end I got a deal I couldn’t refuse and didn’t, on my car, and I love it. But the M holds a special place in my heart.
Salesman was saying most “rich” people buy these cars and use them on the weekends. They dont have them as their mode of daily transport.

Mine has a M on the steering wheel :frowning: but its not a M class.
Your’s probably has an M suspension tune, they were doing that, though I forgot the designation. It’s probably on your car so if you say the full name and model of your car, it will be the one with the M suspension. They never made a M model of this generation. Why I will never know. They made the X6 M which is the answer to a question no one asked ever. Why not make a M Roadster?
Well it’s not like your lacking power so enjoy!

I mean, how this got past the bean counters at Mercedes is beyond me, but I am glad they did it. It only comes as an AMG Model. There is no ‘standard’ version.
Sick car!! Where is this even sold or driven around?
You can get them in the U.S. They are about $600K, I wouldn’t expect to see many.

Are you kidding? I think it’s one of the most beautiful cars ever made, even without the bimbo smudging the paint and denting the boot.

And of course the car to end all cars. The Mclaren F1.
Word. There is so much to say about this car I don’t even know where to begin.

well said. I think the Veyron is a special car, but nothing can or will touch the F1.
Given the choice, I’d take the F1 every time. Like I would ever get a choice like that… lol.

I agree for the most part. It’s a completely unique car created and polished to undermine physics at every turn.
And you only understand it when you drive it, then and only then, do you “get it”. The car has such a unique character, is so ridiculously easy to drive fast and feels like no other car.
The early '80’s nearly saw the demise of this car. I am so glad Porsche came to their senses and recommitted to it.

One of my ‘bucket list’ things to do is to drive every generation of 911 from '63.5 on up. I would really like to know what the early ones felt like.

Let’s play spot-the-Jew-lawyer’s-car-on-Sunday-at-work-parking-garage.

I am a Porsche addict. The above is my favorite, my 993S. 1998 911 with a mere 28,000 miles on it. Still smells new. It’s the last, and, IMO, the best Porsche, far better than the current 997. No electronic gizmos to save your ass, except anti-lock brakes. Drives like a 350hp go cart.

I’ve had a lot of different sports cars over the years. What I really like about 911s is they are still a real car. It seats four (albeit really need to be kids in the back). The trunk is usable. It has a fine AC and heater. I put a ski rack on top and make it to the ski lodge with no problems. Even the radio is OK, although I generally just listen to the engine.

I’ll post pictures of my 550, but I need to be a bit cautious, as it’s a publically-known car, and I like to post rude things here.
When you say 550, are you speaking of the Ferrari 550 Maranello?
No, it’s a 1955 Porsche 550. It’s an all aluminium mid-engine car. There are only a handful left. I bought it when it wasn’t cool; now the prices are such that I am not comfortable driving it.

I can understand why you’d be hesitant to leave the garage.

Because why the fuck not. Go like a stabbed rat and sound like Thor having a wank.

Plus absolutely zero driver aids and the inside is just as mental as the outside.

TVR Speed 12, even more mental even rarer even more un-drivable on anything other than airfields and there fore even more awesome.

Yeah, it’s probably the only thing I’ve ever been sad about going way up in value. On sunny spring days, I used to drive it in NYC, believe it or not.

The one you pictured looks like a tourer or some other version of the 550. Mine is is an RS, which is very similar to the model pictured in this post, although mine lacks the fender stripes and is markedly more “patinaed” to be kind about it.

(The glass windshield on the black one is from a 356, which Porsche did for people who wanted a more useable car and a lot of people did because they didn’t want to have to wear goggles. There’s actually a company that makes these cars “new” using the original Porsche wooden blocks – they hammer out the aluminium body by hand.)

There are M5’s, and then every other fast sedan trying to be an M5.
The e39’s are still one of my favorite cars of all time. I also wouldn’t mind an '03 Audi RS6 for winter weather.
Sorry, late to this thread. My first, and still, dream car is an M5. First aware of and salivating over this car around 2000-2002 era. 400 horse power, rear wheel drive monster that can haul a family. As I recall, started around 48k or so at the time.

Fast forward to two years ago when I can for the first time in my life afford to spend close to that on a car… and the M5 is now starting at something like 90k. So, instead of Euro cool, I ended up with Korean drool as my daily driver. Remarkably, the specs are very similar to that era M5… rear wheel drive, 429 bhp, seats a family of 5…

Ruf CTR aka “Yellowbird”. Zero to 60 in 3.7 seconds, top speed of 211 mph, the fastest sports car in the world when it was released in 1987.

When Alois Ruf isn’t building the world’s fastest production car, he’s driving around in his 500E. The bodies were built by MB, then transferred via train to the Porsche Rossle-Bau factory (where the 959 was built) so Porsche could finish assembling the car. Each car took something like 26 days to complete.

Another 500E, this one was a European model which was available with plaid cloth seats. In 1993, only 3 triple black 500E’s were made. One was owned by a doctor in TX and a second was purchased by Stacey King while he was with the Bulls.

Mentioned it in the american Car thread, figured I’d post a picture over here. LaFerrari. Hybrid done right.

Those Mercedes are sweet.

After the MB 500E contract had finished, Porsche built the RS2 Avant for Audi.

Based on the pedestrian Audi 80 it had 311hp and a zero to sixty time of 4.8 seconds. It was timed going 0-30 in 1.5 seconds which was faster than the Maclaren F1 and Formula 1 cars of the time. Only 2891 of these were built.

That Ferrari is awesome. The Porsche 918 is also a hybrid.

From wiki: The Spyder is powered by a 4.6 liter V8 engine, developing 608 horsepower (453 kW), with two electric motors delivering an additional 279 horsepower (208 kW) for a combined output of 887 horsepower (661 kW). The 918 Spyder’s 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack delivers an all-electric range of 12 mi (19 km) under EPA’s five-cycle tests. The car has a top speed of around 340 km/h (210 mph).

Some of the non-911 Porches (like that one) are gorgeous. As much as I gotta give props to the 911 for it’s speed and relative practicality, when you line it up with most other super cars it’s like an ugly girl in a beauty pageant. Miss Congeniality.

The RS2 is boss, and is on par with an M5 for best vehicle ever.

I remember seeing Bobby Rahal at a race some years ago, and he had a 500E with him. So subtle and badass.
