Great car, Derek.
Can’t forget the original “clown-shoe” mobile.

I was looking for over a year when I found this one.
2011 with 10K miles bought it in Sept of last year. For 41K
It is a blast to drive.
You done anything to boost it’s power output at all? I don’t know how much they weigh, but I seem to recall they just had a little 200 hp straight six or some such.

No man really do NOT need something that is going to get me in trouble, I just like the look and it picks up speed great for me.

That’s good mileage. The good news about cars like that is people don’t drive them much for some reason. Good news for us on the other side. I really wish BMW made an M version of that car. I know they came close, but I would have like to have seen that 414 HP V8 from the M3 in the Roadster. That would be epic.
I was/ am still into the previous gen M Roadster. It was really what I wanted because I used to drive my friend’s who had an '06 and I loved the dynamics of that car. I loved the utter lack of tech, it only had an ‘M’ button you didn’t have to program. I loved the fact that they got a long stroke I6 to rev to 8K, with a six stack on throttle bodies on it.
Hell, if I get an influx of cash, I would still get it. In the end I got a deal I couldn’t refuse and didn’t, on my car, and I love it. But the M holds a special place in my heart.

Salesman was saying most “rich” people buy these cars and use them on the weekends. They dont have them as their mode of daily transport.
Mine has a M on the steering wheel
but its not a M class.

I agree for the most part. It’s a completely unique car created and polished to undermine physics at every turn.
And you only understand it when you drive it, then and only then, do you “get it”. The car has such a unique character, is so ridiculously easy to drive fast and feels like no other car.
The early '80’s nearly saw the demise of this car. I am so glad Porsche came to their senses and recommitted to it.
One of my ‘bucket list’ things to do is to drive every generation of 911 from '63.5 on up. I would really like to know what the early ones felt like.

Let’s play spot-the-Jew-lawyer’s-car-on-Sunday-at-work-parking-garage.
I am a Porsche addict. The above is my favorite, my 993S. 1998 911 with a mere 28,000 miles on it. Still smells new. It’s the last, and, IMO, the best Porsche, far better than the current 997. No electronic gizmos to save your ass, except anti-lock brakes. Drives like a 350hp go cart.
I’ve had a lot of different sports cars over the years. What I really like about 911s is they are still a real car. It seats four (albeit really need to be kids in the back). The trunk is usable. It has a fine AC and heater. I put a ski rack on top and make it to the ski lodge with no problems. Even the radio is OK, although I generally just listen to the engine.
I’ll post pictures of my 550, but I need to be a bit cautious, as it’s a publically-known car, and I like to post rude things here.

Doc friend of mine from my home town swore by this car. Said it was a driving experience like no other. I was looking at Porche also the last year when I was looking at the Z4. I just couldnt not find a used one that I liked.
I dont buy brand new any more, let someone else pay the depreciation.

I am not much of a truck guy, but this thing is just stupid, which is why I love it. It’s absurd at every level.
I mean, how this got past the bean counters at Mercedes is beyond me, but I am glad they did it. It only comes as an AMG Model. There is no ‘standard’ version.
Sick car!! Where is this even sold or driven around?

I’ll take a 993 over the 550 anyday. I would love to own an air-cooled one day.

well said. I think the Veyron is a special car, but nothing can or will touch the F1.

When you say 550, are you speaking of the Ferrari 550 Maranello?
