I’ve heard that caffiene and ephedrine can lead to cardiomyopathy in some people. Is there any scientific proof from this?
Maybe, but probably not. Lots of cardiomyopathy cases are simply idiopathic or assumed to be congenital.
However, it’s thought that hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is the result of chronic high blood pressure. Caffeine and ephedrine can raise blood pressure. The conclusion here is don’t supplement with things that raise your blood pressure if your blood pressure is already too high (duh).
