I`ll definaetly look into that agent37! Everythings worth a try.
synergy93 - wow what a great post! lol Now for me its not so much losing fat or whatever..Im not doing a bodybuilding contest…but the way they eat helps everything lol.
I am doing the conditioning for boxing…cause well I want to fight! That is my joy…so I`m not sure what to do cause there are NO days off…everyday is a hard day, so lots of food and a shitton of carbs all the time.
I`m just wondering like tomrrow I will be lifting…I will lift first, and then after liftnig I will have a shake…after that I will hit the ropes and do 6 rounds of 2-3minutes, then some bag work for a few rounds. If you go hard, this is exhausting lol.
I have another question…everyone says muscle is much harder to put on…how come - is it because people cannot eat the amount of calories needed to support growth, or because they don`t know how to push themselves hard enough in the gym to get a proper stimulus…mmm
i’d say the difficulty in building muscle is a combination of:
fear of fat gain, thus limiting calorie intake (lets face it - a surplus of cal.s is not hard to come by or to ingest if you are willing. eating 4000-5000+ cals of chicken, rice and broccoli might be tough for some ppl, but eating that many calories of whatever it takes pretty much requires a trip to a chinese buffet and maybe a milkshake. sounds easy enough for me. not saying that’s the right way to go about it, but in terms of excuses like “oh i can’t eat that much” it’s just a fact that it is not hard to do. they make weight gainer shakes with 1000+ cals per serving for god’s sake!)
2)not pushing it in the gym like you said - 3 sets of 10 on everything without ever increasing the weight on the bar seems about the norm for many ppl.
3)even with training and nutrition legitimately on point, there comes a point at which the human body does not want to add muscle to itself. from a biology standpoint, only so much muscle is a good thing. more muscle mass=higher metabolic rate=body needs more food to survive. so from that standpoint, being huge makes one less efficient in survival mode, so why would your body want to make itself need more nutrients to survive? your body doesn’t really know that there’s a stocked fridge and cupboard full of food - it is preparing at all times for a hypothetical situation where you would not have access to food (think prehistoric man, when successful hunts could be weeks in between). thus you are fighting with your body’s natural instincts at all times pretty much while trying to gain muscle. same basic concept for trying to shed fat. your body wants a reserve supply of nutrients just in case, and it doesn’t give that supply up easily. i dunno if i worded that well at all, but it made sense in my head lol
haha no no you worded that very well it all made sense. I always like to believe my body will build the muscle and try not to think of you know my body might not like/handle this lol. I’m just thinking like…man doing all this cardio it’s gonna be tougher to build that muscle cause the calories won’t be there cause it’s getting burned? Or is it just too much workload? I have no clue, I’m sure if muscles are sore often something’s gotta build back up from it…but my body is adapating to the cardio/weights. Besides that I can get 4000+ without cheating at all here is a quick way: I think it equals to like 4200 total.
Meal #1 - Cup of Milk, eggs, egg whites, yogurt, muesli
Meal #2 - Tuna sandwhiches, milk, cheese. (if not tuna, pork, or steak, chicken)
Meal #3 - Half lb. beef, pasta, greens shake.
Meal #4 - Cottage cheese, almonds, greens shake, banana.
Meal #5 - Chicken, potatoes/rice, fruit.
Meal #6 - Protein shake/dextrose. bcaa’s.
Meal #7 - Half lb. beef + pasta. (this is before bed) then 300mg magnesium. no 50mg zinc anymore…I’m losing my hair on my head lol.
This is the routine I’m almost 100% at on my boxing days…I have boxing at night, and it’s an hour away from my house so there’s a good 3 hours and half gone those nights. (drive, box, drive) but in a way it is good my stomach settles from the shake, I clear my mind and settle down (or I wouldnt be able to sleep at night after boxing hard).
So anyways that’s the plan right there I want to see where it takes me. In one way I’m thinking…man what kinda gains would I get if I didn’t do any cardio!..but fuck it I’m here to box, get the conditioning up, and keep/add muscle + strength in the process.
Each meal is 50g’s protein…it gives me 1.5g’s per lb bodyweight, 80-100 carbs at each meal…and then the fats that I get in (almonds and I add some flax oil during the day for xtra cals).
Anyways time to go to the grocery store and buy food lol.
