I have just rejoined the gym and started looking around the forum and noticed that peoples carb intake is not as large as I felt necessary. Is this just personal choice to try and avoid putting too much fat on and compensating by eating large portions on fat? or is it because they cant get the calories in from eating carbs and eat more fats?
Dude, everyone is different. And a lot of people don’t really know what they’re doing.
Either one of these two explanations will basically sum up what you see.

Very true. When I first went full Paleo, I was only using vegetables for carbs, and my training suffered immensely.
The only way your going to find out what works best for you, your body, and your goals, is to test things out, experiment, and keep track of what progress you make when utilizing whatever methods or nutrition plans.
Some people do well high carb, some don’t, the only way your going to figure out where you fall is to test both out.
