Carbohydrates for the Muscles

It would still matter. In that hypothetical world, this thread would just be a little echo chamber for you.

I do not believe ā€œifā€ is necessary here.

Who says Zane didn’t eat carbs? He sure as hell did.

Have you ever heard of ā€œEthosā€?

This thread is better than PWI. So many great ā€œwhat ifs?ā€ to ponder.

How much more jacked could the saxophone guy from The Lost Boys have gotten if he didn’t go with a high cocaine, low carbohydrate diet common in the mid 80’s?

10 percent more jacked?
20 percent?
Surely not 30 percent?

At least he didn’t go high meth

I didn’t agree with what you said, so this is irrelevant speculation.

I believe that some people get better results from high carb, some that get better results from low carb, and some at every shade of grey inbetween. I believe the same thing about HIT and HVT.

I also believe that there is absolutely no way that any Olympia winners would be improved with simple, low hanging fruit like eating more carbs. And even if they did, none of us have the right credentials to provide that.

Carbs have nothing to do with HIT

Neither does Frank Zane.

Neither does this thread.

So after making that Lost Boys beach party reference above I had the impulse to go find the song (which is actually a great 80’s song) and noticed a name I recognized from these forums…

@tim_cappello Bro, are you Beach Concert Star?

Well, it depends on how you look at it. Like with most things, when viewed in retrospect you can generally figure out how a result could’ve been produced more efficiently. While it falls very much under ā€œeasier said than doneā€ when you factor in that people invariably have to make the best of whatever tools they have at their disposal at the time, nonetheless, I don’t really see this kind of retrospective analysis as hubris, so much as I do an essential tool for making progress in all walks of life.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think Zane’s Olympia winning physique of yesteryear would even place in the modern Olympia Men’s Physique let alone Classic Physique categories.

I don’t remotely say this to take away from the achievements of Zane, rather it’s just to highlight the levels of advancement in the field of bodybuilding over the ensuing decades: everything from training practices and nutrition to the ā€œspecial supplementsā€ used for peaking, which will allow the high caliber, genetically gifted bodybuilders of today to quickly advance beyond the physiques of what bodybuilders like Zane achieved through their toil a few decades ago, in a more ā€œefficientā€ fashion.

He posts on this website actually

Shut up!

Yeah.

Unfortunately we had a bit of a kerfuffle and I may have alienated him a bit.
