Carb Questions

I am trying to gain muslce with as little fat gain as possible. I take 1-1.5 g of protein/lb everyday.

so i hear that your supposed to only eat ‘starchy’ carbs after your workout and never before. Why?

Also, i hear that you can eat as many veggies as you want during the day, but u should only eat 2-3 fruits a day. why?

Another question is should i eat carbs when i take my last meal (a can of tuna because of the protein) right before sleeping? because whats the point of sleeping on carbs?

"Also, i hear that you can eat as many veggies as you want during the day, but u should only eat 2-3 fruits a day. why? "
Fruits are sugar mainly. Sugar raises insulin immediately causing a surplus which your body can’t utilize during rest, so it’s stored in your fat tissue for a rainy day.

Sleep on protein and fat. Fat from nuts is good or replace the tuna with salmon and you should be set for both protein and fat.

Thats good, did you consider adding a little creatine and specific amino acids (l-carnithine for example) to the mix ?

Starch will be digested somewhat in the longer time, but you will also have to spend energy creating enzymes to digest it, so it all depends on your own metabolism, good sugars like honey is more likely to give you the boost of energy you need pre-workout. I personally take a weight gainer with full carbs pre-workout and never had any downside, of course I’m not a heavy-resistance trainer but I tend more to go with bodyweight exercises and yoga.

If you’re naturally thin and you don’t have diabetic problems you can eat as many as you want, it all depends on who you are, if you don’t know you should. But definately more veggies, and full grains (like oat groats dipped in twice the amount of water for a day) That is a key to balanced nutrition, even tho noone likes it because it’s so simple that we could feed the entire world with it and … oh ima keep some for later

Tuna most likely contains tons of mercury so you better avoid it, eat crustaceans, and of course carbs will be used as you sleep, but not processed carbs, you have to eat full grains as nature intended, you’ll wake up fresh and … eliminate well  I kind of anticipated the next question before I go do that myself, why would you use carbs as you sleep ?

Well of course to repair and build tissue as a normal young man with good HGH production would so as he sleeps (especially if you trained during the day and had good circulation… but also, to dream ! Your brain uses carbs too !

Namase !
